largest food products marketing organization.
Its a state level apex body of milk cooperatives inGujrat which aims to provide remunerative returns tothe farmers
It also serves the interest of consumers by providing
quality products which are good value for money.

History It started 65 years back in Anand, a small town in
Gujrat in western India.
Angered by the unfair and manipulative practicesfollowed by the trade, farmers created own dairy co-operative, following the advices of Sardar VallabhbhaiPatel of removing middlemen.
Under the inspiration of Sardar Patel, and under theguidance of leaders like Morji Desai and TribhuvandasPatel, they formed their own cooperative in 1946.

History cont.. Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers Union ltd.
began with just two village diary co-operative societiesand 247 liters of milk and today is better known asAmul Dairy.

Social entrepreneurship helps in creating wealth for the entrepreneuras well as the society . It focuses on creating social wealth .People with entrepreneurial skills should not only focus on makingprofit for themselves but they should try and build something thatbenefits society as a whole .
