You must consider and refer to these 6 questions throughout, they will help you make the right decisions about your outcomes and the sequence of your work..

1. What is your idea?2. What does your Artist do?3. What features do you want to explore and bring together to refine the idea?4. What do you want to portray or show in your final response?5. How will you use your Artists style in your final response?6. How could you use visual language to communicate your idea?

Visual Language? Here’s the dictionaries definition of language: The method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words. So, visual communication how we communicate using images, colours, shapes and forms. You will gain points by showing that you understand visual language.

TASK (You must share your progress on this task by Monday 18th May)

Drawing features in the style of your Artist: So far, you’ve experimented with individual features that are important to your idea. Now you can demonstrate how you will bring your Artists style into your own final piece. It’s important to do this for Assessment objective 1 (AO1) as it shows you’ve made connections with the work of others. Choose one or more features to record in the style of your Artist. Eg- Theme: Music. Your Artist uses acrylic paint and abstract brushstrokes. You could use this style to record an image of a musical instrument which you might include in your final outcome. *If you don’t have the same materials as your Artist, try to replicate their style using the same colours, shapes or texture as best you can. Speak to me for more help if you don’t have materials.

EXT- Find another Artist to make connections with who might inspire your approach to either the whole idea or just one feature. Dedicate a single or double page to their work & style. Develop further by recreating features in the style of your new Artist, comparing and contrasting in your annotation. Eg- You’ve drawn a sacred building in the style of your first Artist, now record it in the style of your new Artist. In your annotation, compare both styles and state which one would suit your idea the most.

AO1- Develop ideas by making connections with Artists and demonstrating critical understanding of sources.

For this week's task, we will focus on this question:

How will you use your Artists style in your final response?
