Lightning kills over 100 cattle STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Over a hundred cattle died due to lightning that struck the mountainous belt of Rajouri district on Friday, police said. As many as 107 goats and sheep died while a dozen cattle were injured in the lightning that struck high altitude Alal Mangota area, they said. Rajouri Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Aijaz Asad has sent a police team to the spot for immediate assessment of the losses and further action, they added. As per the details, Dharam Chander son of Krishan Lal resident of Gurdaspur who came here in R S Pura in his owner's house was found unconscious in the truck. The committee, after scrutinizing the applications approved 103 cases, deferred 28 applications and rejected 4 cases, a dis- trict administration spokesperson said. Secy. and former BJYM State President Anil Parihar and his elder brother Ajeet Parihar was widely con- demned by different organi- sations include BJP, LVD, VHP and Bajrang Dal who staged massive protests in entire District Udhampur. Protest was organised at Udhampur, Majalta, Manwal, Ramnagar and Chenani to express their resentment against the utter failure of local administra- tion and police to protect lives of the patriotic leaders in Kishtwar. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: In view of Panchayat Elections, around 6000 polling staff members of District Rajouri were acquainted with the polling process at different locations during the 1st phase of training pro- gramme in two days here at Rajouri. On the 2nd day, a total of 2500 polling staff members were imparted with the training, being conducted in block wise and phase man- ner, for the smooth conduct of the Panchayat elections. The training was imparted to polling parties for Blocks Doongi, Dhangri and Darhal at Conference hall of PG College, Rajouri on day 02. The training process was coordinated by Nodal Officer, Manpower and Training, ACD Rajouri. The training for polling parties of Blocks Thanamandi and Planger was held at GDC Thanamandi which was coordinated by SDM Thanamamdi. While, the training for polling parties of Block Kalakote and Moughla was held at Dakbanglow Kalakote and coodrinated by SDM Kalakote. The training was moderat- ed by the Nodal Officer for Training, Assistant Commissioner Development, Rajouri, Akhter Qazi, under the overall supervision and directions of District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad and under the close observation of ADC Rajouri Sher Singh. The polling parties were made aware of their role and responsibilities for the suc- cessful conduct of Panchayat elections in the district. They were further advised to go through the Election handbooks for acquiring proper knowledge about the poll process. District Administration assured all facilities and proper support to Returning, Assistant Returning Officers and other polling staff. The District Level Master Trainers informed that the polling staff is now well versed to conduct the elec- tion process to strengthen the Democratic process. The District Administration has compli- mented the DLMTs, Prof Iqbal Raina, Dr Naseem Malik and Abdul Jabbar for their strenuous efforts to train such a huge number of polling staff in such a short span. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: In view ofPanchayat Elections,around 6000 polling staffmembers of District Rajouriwere acquainted with thepolling process at differentlocations during the 1stphase of training pro-gramme in two days here atRajouri.

On the 2nd day, a total of2500 polling staff memberswere imparted with thetraining, being conducted inblock wise and phase man-ner, for the smooth conductof the Panchayat elections.

The training was impartedto polling parties for BlocksDoongi, Dhangri andDarhal at Conference hall ofPG College, Rajouri on day02. The training processwas coordinated by NodalOfficer, Manpower andTraining, ACD Rajouri.

The training for pollingparties of BlocksThanamandi and Plangerwas held at GDCThanamandi which wascoordinated by SDMThanamamdi.

While, the training forpolling parties of BlockKalakote and Moughla washeld at DakbanglowKalakote and coodrinated bySDM Kalakote.

The training was moderat-ed by the Nodal Officer forTraining, AssistantCommissioner Development,Rajouri, Akhter Qazi, underthe overall supervision anddirections of DistrictPanchayat Election Officer(DPEO) Rajouri,Mohammad Aijaz Asad andunder the close observationof ADC Rajouri Sher Singh.

The polling parties weremade aware of their role and

responsibilities for the suc-cessful conduct ofPanchayat elections in thedistrict. They were furtheradvised to go through theElection handbooks foracquiring proper knowledgeabout the poll process.

District Administrationassured all facilities andproper support toReturning, AssistantReturning Officers andother polling staff.

The District Level MasterTrainers informed that thepolling staff is now wellversed to conduct the elec-tion process to strengthenthe Democratic process.

The DistrictAdministration has compli-mented the DLMTs, ProfIqbal Raina, Dr NaseemMalik and Abdul Jabbar fortheir strenuous efforts totrain such a huge number of
