The message “Phone i s s t ar t ing…” appears on the LCD aft er con-necti ng the power adaptor. If your SIM card is protected by a PIN code, the phone will require it.

Enter the PIN code and confi rm it by pressing the green key or the OK selecti on key.If you enter an incorrect PIN code three ti mes in a row, the PIN code will be blocked. To unblock it, you need to enter your PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) – check your SIM card documentati on for details.

LanguageThe phone will set the language automati cally according to the country code of your SIM card. Language can be changed manually in the Setti ngs menu.

C The batt ery is empty on delivery and needs to be charged before the fi rst using. The batt ery should be charged for about 5 hours to reach its full capacity. The batt ery is being charged whenever the phone is connected to the power adaptor – even when the phone is switched off .

Use the batt ery and power adaptor only for its intended purpose. Never use any adaptor or batt ery that is damaged. Your phone may become warm during charging and during normal use. The phone is designed to be powered from the power adaptor. The limited capacity of the backup batt ery should only cover emergency calls in case of electricity failure. The standard talking ti me for a fully charged batt ery is about 3 hours. The standard standby ti me is about 24 hours. The batt ery gradually decreases its capacity during its lifeti me. To reach the opti mal parameters the batt ery should be kept in an environment between 5°C and 35°C. Never expose the batt ery to temperature out of the operati ng temperature range -10°C to +55°C. A device with a hot or cold batt ery may temporarily not work, even when the batt ery is fully charged. A batt ery’s performance is parti cularly limited in temperatures well below freezing. Using the device with 3G network can signifi cantly decrease batt ery life!
