Training Facilities WorldwideGE Oil & Gas has created training centers around the world, with the aim of developing local resources and delivering the same exacting standards of learning everywhere.

GE Oil & Gas

ITALYFlorenceOur 5,600 square meter facility has more than 20 training rooms, a conference center with a seating capacity of 200, multimedia rooms, and classrooms equipped with Speedtronic™ Mark V, Mark VI and Mark VIe control panels, and Bently Nevada™ equipment to offer a hands-on learning experience. We also offer practical courses on BCL compressors, steam turbines and MS5002 and PGT5 gas turbines as well as a full range of leadership courses.

MassaTraining at this facility is dedicated to providing courses for aeroderivative equipment, and includes the following: fully equipped classroom adjacent to the Aeroderivative Service Shop giving students direct access to the shop and close-up views of the internal components of gas turbines being serviced. A PGT25 dedicated to practical training for mechanical operations. Students perform Level 1 module mechanical procedures including external and borescopic inspections of the hot path component bleed valves, VSV readings and settings, thermocouple checks, scavenge lube oil, etc. A control room with a Speedtronic™ Mark VI control panel. Connection to a test cell with an LM2500 SAC gas turbine gives students first hand experience of start up.

Training Facilities Worldwide

BariThe Bari site is dedicated to the design and fabrication of pumps and industrial valves. This training facility offers courses on any type of GE centrifugal pumps. Students have ready access to the shop floor where they can see exactly how our pumps are manufactured, assembled and tested.

REST OF THE WORLDAlgeriaThe GE Oil & Gas Algesco Service Shop, located in Boufarik, in northern Algeria, has its own training center containing a fully equipped Bently Nevada™ Rotor Kit, BN 3500 rack, System 1 and a Speedtronic™ Mark VI control panel and can also accommodate courses on leadership.

NigeriaThe GE Regional Training Center in Port Harcourt Nigeria provides technical information, training and assistance for customers in Nigeria and the surrounding regions. It is the first GE facility ofits kind in Sub-Saharan Africa and can offer both technical and leadership courses. The Center includes two fully equipped classrooms for mechanical training sessions. The facility houses a gas turbine control panel simulator and other instructional materials such as machined cut-outs showing component parts and displays designed to instruct trainees on the operational features of GE equipment for oil and gas applications. The Center offers both standard and customized training packages for GE equipment for operation and maintenance personnel.

MexicoOur GE office in Ciudad del Carmen includes a training room equipped with a Speedtronic™ Mark VI Simplex Control panel. Students can simulate operations and to gain hands-on experience with the panel itself. We can also offer our leadership courses.

QatarOur Ras Laffan Service Shop is equipped with a Mark VIe control panel and offers students courses on controls as well as customized programs and leadership training.

AustraliaThe GE Skills Development Center in Jandakot is part of a custom-built, state-of-the-art technology and learning complex that offers students tailored training programs on GE Oil & Gas equipment, controls as well as tailored leadership skill courses.

Customized TrainingGE Oil & Gas Training provides world-class, site-specific courses to equipment owners and operators. Course content covers both operation and maintenance practices.

Customized training provides trainees with knowledge they will be able to apply on a daily basis.

The courses can be conducted on-site as well as in our training centers worldwide. Course duration is tailored to the material and the trainees, taking into account their technical background and is applicable to Operation & Maintenance professionals as well as Field Service Engineers.
