Introduction:
We thought about making something that fills our needs. Our project is about making our lives a lot easier. It’s designed for those having special needs in the first place, and for the rest of the students because there is a long walking distance between buildings which consumes students' time and energy.
1
Problem Statement:
Students and staff, especially those with special needs, have to travel long distances between college buildings in a short time.
2
Need Analysis:
• We searched for solutions and came up with the following:
• Moving walkway.• Metro.• Golf cars. ?
3
• Advantages of moving walkway :
1 -No waiting. 2 -Cost effective.
3 -Easy to use.4 -Easy to maintain.
Moving Walkway

Objectives:
• Primary objective : To Design a moving walkway to transport people between colleges.
• Secondary objectives : Benefits everyone , effective 5
Objective Tree:
6
• Cost: less than 10 million SR• Safety: scheduled
maintenance • Width: 1.5(m) for each line• Construction time: during summer vacation• Capacity : 400kg/m2• Power consumption: Consumes low energy
Constraints:
7(2)
• Material : light, tough and flexible.• Energy: uses solar energy. Saves energy by
shutting down when not in use.• Paint with white color: to Lower heat
absorption. • width and length : 1.5 meters wide and 100
meter long (for each unit).• Rotary engine : AC induction motor
Criteria:
8
To design a moving walkaway for students and college employees because there is a long walking distance between buildings. The cost must be less than 10 million. It has 1.5 (m) width for each line and pressure of 400 (Pa) with total capacity of 600 people to transport. It will be made of light and tough flexible materials. It runs on solar energy and electricity. It will work on rotary engine. We will save energy by stopping the moving walkaway in stillness mode .
