At Geberit we have gone to great lengths to build and maintain our own drainage research towers. The structure allows our researchers along with plumbers and hydraulic engineers to develop and refine the drainage techniques in a real life simulation.

The tower provides a realistic example of how waste and pressure interact under different conditions. Allowing us to better demonstrate the principle of how discharge stacks can achieve their full drainage performance, and how incorrect installations can lead to issues with noise, blockages or malfunctions.

Light weight, yet incredibly strong, Geberit HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) piping systems are best suited for trade waste and drainage applications. With a high resistance to chemicals and heat, Geberit HDPE is particularly effective when used in laboratories, commercial kitchens, food preparation areas and for areas with a high concentration of grease or chemical waste.

Geberit HDPE piping systems are also cost effective, particularly when compared to metal piping systems; when you consider the initial cost of the materials and factor in additional labour costs as a result of material weight, you’ll find Geberit HDPE a far more economical alternative.

A simple pop up flag on the electrofusion fittings will indicate if the welding has been performed correctly, reducing the need for leakage testing.

Play safe, no glues.

Geberit HDPE pipes and fittings can be prefabricated without the need for gluing. They can be connected using butt welding, electrofusion welding, screw connections or flanges. Once welded HDPE connections will never leak or break and form a stronger bond than the pipe itself. Safe and environmentally friendly, Geberit HDPE pipes and fittings are 100% recyclable. No toxic emissions are released during manufacture or in the event of a fire.

Geberit HDPE can take virtually anything you throw at it.

Robust and resistant to heat, Geberit HDPE pipes can withstand hot water temperatures of 80ºC, up to 100ºC for short periods, and are resistant to 95% of all commercially available alkalis, acids and chemicals. Geberit HDPE pipes and fittings can also withstand shocks, drops, impacts and pressures of up to 1.5 bar.

Geberit has developed a more cost effective and efficient alternative to conventional drainage systems used in high rise buildings. The Geberit Sovent system eliminates the need for a secondary vent line. The ingenious design of the Sovent system enhances the flow capacity of the discharge stack and at the same time ensures self-venting within the stack, allowing for greater loading. The Geberit Sovent system can deliver considerable cost savings on materials and labour costs.

The Pluvia system is simpler because no slopes are required for horizontal pipe runs reducing ceiling space. Smaller pipe diameters can lead to lower material cost and greater installation flexibility.

Geberit Pluvia outlets have been specially constructed to ensure rapid removal of rainwater from the roof using siphonic principles with a vacuum effect. Compared with conventional drainage, the discharge velocity and capacity is considerably increased, despite the smaller pipe dimensions. Rainwater within the pipes travels at high velocity maximising the discharge capacity and minimising blockages.
