Founded in 1994, we plan, construct, finance and operate solar power systems up to and including the multi-megawatt range. As a photovoltaic specialist and one of the ten largest system integrators worldwide, we can supply you with components or complete systems, including our own proven GehrTec® product family as well as solar modules and inverters, at competitive conditions. The wide range of substructures are designed to meet the highest quality standards. Research and development

Only the best solution is good enough for usGehrlicher Solar is synonymous with photovoltaics delivering maxi-mum profit through its experience and quality. In addition to distribut-ing modules, inverters and cabling systems, Gehrlicher Solar stands out from the competition through its in-house product development.

Photovoltaic systems are exposed to a wide range of weather conditions. A photovoltaic system must be able to withstand a severe winter with a lot of snow as well as a violent storm or, and this may appear as a matter of course, extreme heat. Through the constant further development of our products, we are improving the revenue opportuni-ties of solar power systems and lowering transport and installation costs.

Together for optimum resultsPrior to using components in systems, we utilise advanced design and simulation tools to gather important information about demands under extreme conditions. This includes, for example, substructure testing in a wind tunnel. There, even models of ground-mounted systems on a scale of 1:30 are tested for their resilience. To ensure stability of our system, we carry out comprehensive structural calculations. When developing new systems, we cooperate with manufacturers of

modules and inverters and rely on robust network-ing with testing institutes so that we can eliminate potential defects in the early stages.

We use our own pilot system for testing under real conditions and our systems must have proved themselves before they can be offered to custom-ers. Since being founded in 1994, here at Gehrlicher we have been gaining experience through this as well as working closely with our suppliers, partners and customers towards this goal.

Constant improvement for maximum profitConstant improvement and further development are essential for us to significantly develop and boost the energy revolution as well as to turn it into a reality. On a daily basis, numerous experts in the areas of mechanical engineering, design, system planning, electrical engineering and electronics are conducting research aimed at finding ways to make our products even more reliable, robust and durable and to establish photovoltaics as a sustain-able energy source.

As recently as 2010, we were honoured with the Intersolar Award for developing the Gehrlicher assembly robot, a fully automatic assembly robot for PV modules.

Our patented mounting systems are also signifi-cantly contributing to reducing installation and logistics expenditure and result in cost reductions in the construction of solar power plants.

Sustainable quality managementUnlike many other photovoltaic suppliers, it is not our goal to build as many installations as quickly as possible, instead, we want to establish as many good and reliable installations as possible. When building PV power plants, high quality of workman-ship and of the materials used are essential for us.

For this reason, we have taken care to design a process-orientated quality assurance system across the entire value chain. After all, ultimately, our systems are only as good as their weakest components.

The result is quite remarkable: even after many years, the damage ratio of our products and systems is extremely low.

In the future, research and development will continue as a central aspect of our work in order to maximise revenue opportunities and to make the sun's inexhaustible energy accessible to as many people as possible by providing reliable solutions.

Gehrtec® Aero Gehrtec® Aero is an aerodynamic PV flat roof system that can be installed without penetrating the roof. Take advantage of the weight-reduced modular system and its excellent adaptabil-ity to different roof situations.

GehrTec® Base, Base FS, Base F/3, Base Backrail Professional substructures for ground-mounted photovoltaic systems. Optimised for First Solar thin-film modules, framed modules as well as large laminates with Backrail system, based on the proven ramming technology.

GehrTec® Flat Gehrlicher's flat roof system for load-bearing roofs meets the highest demands for functionality and enables flexible design due to its modular construction.

GehrTec® Intra Gehrlicher's roof-integrated system is completely incorporated into the roof, making the module surface the water-bearing layer. This system provides you with complete roofing including solar energy generation.

GehrTec® Top Highly variable modular system suitable for rooftop mounting and many different types of roof covering. Options for attaching framed as well as frameless solar modules, which can be fastened quickly and securely using 4-point clamping.

GehrTec® Top TS The GehrTec® Top TS system repre-sents an efficient elevated mounting system for roofs covered with trapezoidal profile plates. This elevated mounting system is utilised to ensure the ideal orientation of the PV modules for flat roofs with a pitch of between 5° and 20°. You benefit from pre-assembled system components.

The GehrTec® Top TS represents an efficient elevated mounting system for roofs covered with trapezoidal profile plates. This elevated mounting system is utilised to ensure the ideal orientation of the PV modules for flat roofs with a pitch of between 5° and 20°. You benefit from pre-assembled system components!

GehrTec® Intra

The Gehrlicher roof-integrated system is completely integrated into the roof, making the module surface the water-bearing layer. The fastening system consists of rubber sealing profiles and intelligent clamp rails, impressing with its combination of attractive design with functionality. The needs of the installer were taken into consideration in the design and assembly processes have been made more efficient. The installer is provided with an individually pre-assembled system that makes it possible to install the modules quickly and without any tools. This system provides you with complete roofing including solar energy generation. If the module meets the requirements, this corresponds to the requirements for "hard roofing". First Solar Modules of Series 2 and 3 meet these requirements.

GehrTec® Avorec – Diode and Fuse for your Ground-Mounted Systems

GehrTec® Avorec diodes and fuses make it possible to fully prevent reverse currents in the cabling system of large PV systems. Because of the limited reverse current resistance of thin-film modules, measures need to be taken to limit or prevent damaging reverse currents, especially in connection with central inverters. GehrTec® Avorec diodes and fuses are used in fenced-in ground-mounted systems in conjunction with the GehrTec® Nubbel system.

Overview of Functions– Robust, durable housing for outdoor use– Operating temperature range -20 to +70°C– Protection class IP65

Advantages– Cost-efficient through simplified wiring and to some extent

saving of the PV generator junction box– Minimal electrical losses (< 0.15% at a system voltage of 800 V)– Design with MC3 or MC4 connectors– Avorec-D allows for a system voltage of up to 1000 V and 5 A

Off-grid systemsReliable, affordable power supply is not something that is a matter of course. There are still 1.6 billion people around the world without access to electricity. In regions without access to power, off-grid solar systems provide the optimal environmentally friendly solution for electrical energy supplies.

To-date, in many regions of Africa and South America power is often generated from diesel aggregates which inherently come with a number of disadvantages such as the high cost of fuel and maintenance. These devices also impact the envi-ronment with their noise and exhaust emissions.

Gehrlicher Solar AG offers so-called "off-grid systems" to supply self-sustaining energy to remote buildings and rural areas, to run industrial applica-tions in areas without a grid connection and to power telecommunication equipment that is too far away from the public power grid. In order to implement such stand-alone off-grid systems it is necessary to combine photovoltaic equipment with suitable batteries and charge regulators. This results in customer-specific solutions that supply environmen-tally friendly power independent of public grid, weather and time of day.

We have more than 15 years' experience in imple-menting stand-alone photovoltaic systems and are leaders in system design and solutions expertise. As a partner for NGOs, local installation companies, regional specialists in Africa and South America and as a supplier to telecommunications equipment vendors, we sell all sizes of off-grid systems from individual components to complete construction kits. We can take over the technical monitoring of your solar power system by connecting it to our server and, in the event of failure and/or yield reduction, we will decide when and what type of work has to be done. Naturally, you will be informed right away and kept up to date regarding the yield of your PV system.
