With the decree law no. 476 dated 04/12/92 Italy has assimilated the European

regulation no. 89/336/EEC

The decree law no. 476/92 settles the protection requirements concerning theelectromagnetic compatibility. It is applies to all electrical and electronicappliances which may give out electromagnetic emissions or to their functio-ning, which can be altered if they work in presence of electromagnetic interfe-rences (appliances with electrical and electronical devices are also included).The appliances that are in compliance with the above decree, must be attestedby a standard certification CE. In addition, the CE marking must be printed onthe appliance, package, user’s manual and on the guarantee.

Nach dem Gesetz 476/92 werden die Schutzanforderungen auf dem Gebiet der elektromagnetische Kompatibilität festgelegt und auf elektrische und elektronischen Geräte angewandt (sowie auf Geräte, die elektrische und elektronische Vorrichtungen enthalten), die elektromagnetische Ausstrahlungenerzeugen können oder deren Betrieb durch in der Umwelt vorhandene elektromagnetische Störungen beeinträchtigt werden kann.Geräte konform mit den Bestimmungen des obigen Gesetzes, müssen durcheine Konformitätserklärung CE bescheinigt werden und die Markierung CE aufdem Gerät, der Verpackung und auf den Gebrauchsanweisungen oder derGarantie tragen.

G Water used with industrial and dome-stic water systems, contains suspendedfirm particles such as sand, rust, sludgeetc. These particles of different sizevarying from few microns to few milli-metres, cause damage and corrosion towater systems, taps and electric hou-sehold appliances.It is necessary to prevent and to solvethe problem by installing a special fil-ter before the system or before theequipment to protect.GEL security filters of DEPURA linediffer in the material and in the waythey have been built. DEPURA FILTERSare available in 2 pieces (head + bowl)and in three pieces (head + bowl +ring), in brass or in plastic material forfood use. Filter cartridges can differ inmaterial and in performances:- washable net cartridges with net in

polypropilene 60 and 90 microns, forpotable water;

- stainless steel cartridges withwashable stainless steel net 90microns, for potable water;

- flat stainless steel cartridges withwashable stainless steel net 90microns, for potable water;

- wound cotton cartridges 5 and 20microns, disposable, for technical use;

- activated carbon cartridges fortechnical use to remove tastes, odourscolour, chlorine;

- cartridges with polyphosphates incrystals, anti-scale and anti-corrosionaction;

- dechlorinating cartridges. All GEL filters are equipped with an airvalve to remove the pressure insidethe filter and to make the openingeasier.Special wrenches are available forfilters in three pieces.

If a filter is installed a recurrent cleaningoperation or replacement of the filte-ring cartridge is necessary. To avoid thisproblem GEL has created a range ofself-cleaning filters. The automaticmodel ensures a periodic self-cleaningoperation of the cartridge which main-tains its filtering capacity. The washingis carried out by a self-cleaning systemGEL PATENT, which combines the tra-ditional countercurrent washing with amechanical brushing from the outsideof the cartridge to remove all the impu-rities.In fact, the countercurrent washing isnot sufficient to ensure a completecleaning of the cartridge as the waterafter the first countercurrent cleaning,continues to flow through the spaces,clean and no more clogged, avoidingthe spaces still dirty and obstructedwhich cause resistance to the passageof water.During the self-cleaning step (fig. 2), aseries of nozzles energetically sprinklethe water from the inside towards theoutside of the cartridge completing themechanical cleaning of the brushesfrom the outside. The brushes aremoved by a turbine which exploits thepressure and the flow of the water to befiltered.When all the impurities have beenremoved, they are sent towards thebottom of the filter where the drainvalve is placed. It takes 10-15 secondsto carry out the cleaning operationdischarging directly to drain or to abucket the water used for cleaning,that is about 15 l.Once the washing operation is ended,the filter is placed again in workingposition condition (fig.1).

Die Installation eines Filters ist oftnutzlos, wenn anschließend keineReinigung oder kein regelmäßigerAustausch der Filterkartusche erfolgt.Die Firma GEL hat, um diesemProblem aus dem Weg zu gehen, eineSerie von Selbstreinigungsfilterentwickelt, von denen die automati-schen Modelle eine regelmäßigeSelbstspülung der Kartusche gewähr-leisten und damit eine dauerhafteFilterleistung garantiert. Die Reinigung des Filters erfolgt durchdas Selbstreinigungssystem GELPATENT, in dem die herkömmlicheRückspülung in Kombination mit einerBürstenmechanik die Außenseite derKartusche reinigt und dadurch jeglicheVerschmutzungen beseitigt.Eine einfache Rückspülung ist in derTat nicht ausreichend, um dieKartusche komplett zu reinigen, weilder Erfahrung nach, das erste durch-laufende Spülwasser nachfolgend nurnoch durch die schon gereinigten Teilefließt und die noch verstopften Teile

der Kartusche, die für das fließendeWasser ein Hindernis darstellen, vermei-det. Während beim Selbstreinigungs-Durchgang (Abb. 2), eine Reihe vonDüsen das Spülwasser von derInnenseite energisch zur Außenseite derKartuschen spritzen, erfolgt gleichzeitigdie mechanische Reinigung mit denBürsten auf der Außenseite. Die Bürstenwerden durch eine Turbine bewegt, dieden Druck und den Fluss desFilterwassers ausnützt. Die gelösten Schmutzteile werden aufden Grund des Filters zum Auslaufventilgeleitet. Für eine Selbstreinigung sind 10-15Sekunden notwendig, dabei kann dasSpülwasser direkt in den Abfluß oder ineinen Behälter von zirka 15 l geleitetwerden. Nach Beendigung des Spüldurchgangswird der Filter wieder auf Betrieb (Abb. 1) gestellt.

Die Wasserfilter der Serie DEPURA 5000und 6000 finden eine idealeAnwendung beim Umgang mit großenWassermengen. Die Filter sind fürHausanlagen, technische undindustrielle Anlagen geeignet. Siebestehen aus zwei Halbschalen ausEdelstahl, in denen 21 Kartuschen 10"im Typ Depura 5000 und 28 Kartuschen10" im Typ Depura 6000 vorgesehensind. Die Filterbehälter sind mit Füßenausgerüstet, die Anschlüsse für Ein- undAusgang, Entlüfter, Drainage sowie Ein-und Ausgangsmanometer zur Messungvon Betriebsdruck und relativemLadedruck sind aus Rohrstutzen mitInnengewinde.

Water filters of the DEPURA 5000 and6000 line can be used when there arehigh flow rates. They are for domesticindustrial and technical use. They aremade of two half-shells in stainlesssteel containing 21 cartridges 10” inthe Depura 5000 and 28 cartridges 10”in the Depura 6000. The filter housingsare equipped with supporting feet andfemale threads for inlet/outlet, threadsfor air escape and for drainage andinlet/outlet manometers to check thepressure and the pressure drop.

The self-cleaning water filters ofDEPURA MATIC line (manual filters)and DEPURA AUTOMATIC line (auto-matic filters) represent in the domesticand industrial field the most technolo-gically advanced filters, for technicaluse and for potable water.The self-cleaning filter can be installedalternatively to the traditional filter butit has the advantage that no recurrentsubstitution of the filtering cartridge isneeded because it is kept clean by aperiodic backflow washing combinedwith a patented mechanical brushingtreatment. The self-cleaning treatmentin the manual model becomes operativeby turning 90° the upper knob forabout 10-15 seconds, while in the auto-matic model, once the frequency indays is set in the special timer, the self-washing treatment takes place automa-tically within perfect safety conditions.If there are high levels of suspendedparticles in the water, it is necessary toinstall a CYCLON filter or a clarifyingcolumn filter like DESABB before theself-cleaning filter.All above equipments are made withfirst quality materials for food use.

Der Selbstreinigungsfilter, der alsAlternative zum traditionellen Filterinstalliert wird, hat den Vorteil, dass dieFilterkartusche nicht regelmäßig ersetztwerden muß.Diese wird durch eine regelmäßigeRückspülung in Verbindung mit einemeffizienten Bürstenmechanik-System(Patent) saubergehalten.Die Selbstreinigung wird aktiviert,indem der drehbare Deckel für zirka 10-15 Sekunden um 90° verstellt wird. Das automatische Modell führt dieSelbstreinigung vollkommenselbstständig nach dem eingegebenenZeitprogramm im Timer durch.Wenn das Wasser stark mitaufgeschwämmten Schmutzteilendurchsetzt ist, ist es notwendig, vordem Selbstreinigungsfilter einenCYCLON-Filter oder einen SäulenfilterDESABB zu installieren. In factthe cartridge is kept clean by a periodicwashing through water turbines (cyclonwashing). the layers of theground dissolves mine-ral salts, some of which, predominantly calciumand magnesium, constitute the hardnesssalts which cause scaleand damage to watersystems, boilers, electric householdappliances valves andtaps.If the water hardness ishigher than 15° f, it isrecommended that awater softener is installed. This retainsthe dissolved calciumand magnesium saltswith special syntheticresins eliminating theexcessive hardness. Asoftener is the absolutesolution to scale problems. It consists ofa container for theresins, a container for the salt (requi-red for the regularregeneration of the resins), and a hydropneumatic valve controlled by a timer, which controls the required regeneration cycles necessary to keep efficient the appliance.

Das Wasser wird auf seinem Weg durchunterschiedliche Erdschichten mit ver-schiedenen Mineralien angereichert, dieden totalen Mineralsalzgehalt bilden.Kalzium und Magnesium sind unter die-sen Mineralen für die Härte des Wassersverantwortlich, und sind gleichzeitig dieHauptverursacher von Ablagerung undVerkrustung in hydraulischen Anlagenwie Heizungen, Heizkessel, Boiler,Armaturen und Haushaltsgeräten. Beieiner Wasserhärte von 15°f (=8,4° dH),ist die Installation eines Enthärtersnotwendig. In den Wasserenthärternwerden mit Hilfe spezieller KunstharzeKalzium- und Magnesiumsalze zurück-gehalten, um dadurch die Härte desWassers auf nutzbare Werte zu verrin-gern und die entgültige Lösung fürProbleme der Ablagerungen darstellen.Das Gerät besteht aus einem Behälterfür Harz und einen für Salz, dieses letz-tere ist für die regelmäßigeRegeneration der Harze notwendig.

Ein hydropneumatisches Ventil, voneinem programmierbaren Timergesteuert, führt automatisch dieSpülungen durch, die zurAufrechthaltung der einwandfreienFunktion des Wasserenthärters erfor-derlich sind.

The softeners can be fitted with threedifferent programmable timers whichare innovative and very easy to beused: - Timer ET 500, - Timer VT 1000, - Timer VT 2000.The Timer ET 500 working on time only,effects the regeneration each"n"programmed days. The Timers VT 1000 and VT 2000working on volume/time will effect theregeneration each “n” days or before,if the volume of treated water hasalready saturated the resins.All GEL appliances have beendesigned and created with first qualitymaterials in order to have the bestperformances, working within safetyconditions.The “BPA” version in the Timer VT 2000can control a special automatic by-pass(GEL patent) which ensures a continualflow of the water with the requiredhardness.The VT 2000 “AD” version is fitted witha resin disinfection system and aspecial acoustic-visual alarm toindicate when the salt is finished.

Die Enthärter können mit drei verschie-denen Typen programmierbarer Timerausgestattet werden. Die Timer sindneuartiger, moderner Konstruktion undeinfach in der Anwendung: - Timer ET 500- Timer VT 1000- Timer VT 2000Der Timer ET 500 führt zu jedem pro-grammierten Zeitpunkt "n", eineSpülung der Harze durch.Die Timer VT 1000 und VT 2000 führenzu jedem programmierten Zeitpunkt"n", eine Spülung durch, schaltet aller-dings außer der programmierten Zeitautomatisch eine Spülung ein, wenn daszu behandelnde Wasser die Harzegesättigt hat. Gel-Geräte sind aussch-ließlich aus hochwertigen Materialienangefertigt, um bei höchstmöglicherFunktionssicherheit jederzeit eine opti-male Leistung zu bringen. Mit der BPA-Version des Timer 2000 (GEL Patent)

kann zusätzlich ein Bypass gesteuertwerden, der automatisch für eine kon-stante Regulierung des Härtegrades amFilterausgang sorgt. Die VT 2000 AD-Version verfügt über ein zusätzlichesDesinfiziersystem der Harze, notwendigfür den Hausgebrauch, und einen aku-stisch-optischen Alarm der einen even-tuellen Salzmangel nach einerRegenerierung meldet.

into three groups: 1) the DECALUX and DECAL group

(table A) which during the regeneration phase does not give softened water;

2) the DUPLEX group (table B) which gives a continual flow of softened water;

3) the TRIPLEX group (Table C), which gives a continual flow of softened water.

......When the group and the table towhich it belongs to (A, B or C) havebeen chosen, it is necessary to choosethe size of the water softener accordingto the water hardness (yellow arrows),to the number of inhabitants and to thedaily water consumption (blue arrows).

The square which comes out from cros-sing the said data, will indicate the softener model needed.

......When the model of the water softe-ner is defined, the timer model shouldbe then chosen according to its useand to the fact that generally the timerswith volume and time controls (VT 1000- VT 2000) work with optimum salt,water and energy consumption compa-red to the timers with time control only(MEC ET 500).If the softener is for domestic use andnot for technical or industrial use, it isadvisable to choose the “AD” modelwith the resin disinfection system.
