9.- IFEMA Press Releases

IFEMA exports its MATELEC and GENERA brands to Chile This edition of MATELEC Latin America is going to be held together with the edition of GENERA Latin America with energy efficiency as leitmotiv, they are going to offer a context of synergies backed up by two international IFEMA brands in a market full of big opportunities for the power and energy sectors. The new investment plans for public infrastructures and the electricity reform, recently announced by Chilean government, together with the macroeconomic and political stability in the country, legal certainty, trade openness and economic freedom, make Chile a very attractive country to invest in. Both will be co-organized with FISA and held from 7 to 9 October 2015, in Espacio Riesco, of Santiago de Chile. Madrid, 24 November 2014- The energy efficiency as leitmotiv, IFEMA arrives again to Chile with two of its big international brands. It is the first edition of MATALEC Latin America, International Trade Fair of Solutions for the Electrical and Electronic Industry, and the second edition of GENERA Latin America, International Fair of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, which will be held from 7 to 9 October 2015, in Espacio Riesco, of Santiago de Chile. The joint organization of both events, outcome of the strategic alliance with FISA, one of the main fair operators in the continent, offer a context of synergies in a market full of big opportunities for the power and energy sectors. In this respect, the new investment plans for public infrastructures and the electricity reform, recently announced by the President of Chile in Madrid, together with the macroeconomic and political stability in the country, legal certainty, trade openness and economic freedom, make Chile a very attractive country to invest in, also, adding that is the way to access the American Southern Cone trade. Chile imports electrical material Chile represents an interesting opportunity in the market for those manufacturers and exporters in the sector due to the continued economic growth and that it is expected that the demand for electricity in Chile has increased considerably and it is expected that it will double in the next fifteen years. It has an annual growth of 6-7% to reach an energy demand of 100,000 GWh by 2020, that implies an increase the Chilean electric system by more than 8,000 MW through new power generation projects. In general, the imports of electrical material have experienced a significant increase in the last five years and from the end of 2010, the total amount has skyrocketed. With minor companies in the sector, Chile imports electrical material mainly to Europe, United States and China, even though the offices of such international and well-known brands in Latin America are located there and, often, operating from Chile as a platform for the rest of American Southern Cone. The energy reform will encourage investments and the need of generating clean energy

Regarding the energy sector, the reform aim of the Andean Government is to achieve a balanced and sustainable development for the next 15-20 years. To that end, the 2014-2018 Strategic Plan commissioning specially focus on renewable energies and on the need of generating clean energy by a higher number of companies that represents a reduction in the costs in comparison with the current electricity and gas prices. A plan, that will encourage the national and international investments and also boost the introduction of new approaches, actors and technologies, specially, regarding electricity generation and transmission. Currently, electricity generation in Chile is almost controlled by three companies that generate 90% of the energy in the SIC Central Interconnected System.

Furthermore, the renewable energies and energy efficiency are becoming more and more important in the two activity sectors in the country, considered priorities from a strategic point of view and the strength of large scale consumers and construction and mining. IFEMA experience servicing companies with international vocation. Therefore, Chile represents an opportunity for those manufacturers and exporters in the sector and MATALEC Latin America and GENERA Latin America offer a very important platform and access this market. All of this lead by IFEMA, Spain's leading trade fair organizer and one of the main European operators. Its experience in this sector, over three decades, and the collaboration with other leading operators are the best credentials for the project. For this, according to AFIDA, association of International Fairs of America, IFEMA is considered as one of the main European operators with presence in the Iberoamerican continent, introduced by leading fair operators such as FISA.

17

IFEMA opens its doors to the Latin America energy and electricity market The Trade Fairs MATELEC and GENERA will be held at Espacio Riesco of Chile from 7 to 9 October, during a period of large investments in the Chilean energy and electricity market. The Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation position Chile as the 7º country with the highest Index of Economic Freedom, the best assessed one of Latin America. IFEMA´s proposal in Chile is completed with the celebration of SICUR Latin America for the third consecutive year. It will be held from the next 30 September to 2 October. Madrid, 4 February 2015. - IFEMA supports the electricity and energy markets, as one of the most prosperous possibility of business for the companies of the sector. When the Chilean government communicated the new Plan of Investments in Public infrastructures and the energy reform during their visit to Madrid, it was clear that the companies have a great business opportunity in Chile to be known for the Latin America market. Due to this need of the country and with the energy efficiency as driving force, holding Trade Fairs as MATELEC Latin America, International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry and GENERA Latin America, Energy efficiency and Electricity industry Trade Fair, is very important. They will be held at the same time from 7 to 9 October in Espacio Riesco of Santiago de Chile. This initiative carried out by IFEMA, in collaboration with FISA, is supported by the report recently elaborated by the Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal, which measures the Index of Economic Freedom. In this analysis, Chile is positioned as the seventh best assessed country of a total of 178 nations, being in this way, the Latin America leader in this aspect, with an evident advantage with respect to the rest of the countries. Colombia, which is in the 28 position, is the nearest country in the list. According to the economist Francisco Klapp, the development is favourable, and he hopes that “the Gross Domestic Product rises by 3 points until 2018, thanks to the new tax reforms agreed”, as quoted by the energy magazine ‘Electricidad. La revista energética de Chile’. (Electricity. The energy magazine of Chile) The report observes an evident economic freedom in Chile, which improves its assessment in this aspect, for the fifth consecutive year. Heritage Foundation evaluation defines Chile as “the least corrupt country of Latin America, with a judicial system free of interferences and which strongly respects the property and contract rights”. Due to this international support, the energy companies look at the new Chilean Energy Plan 2014-2018 as a unique opportunity. This strategy aims to reduce the loss-making electrical system in the country and improve the renewal energies. With this business opportunity, a new context of presentation and growth is open for all the companies with important synergies in a potential market for the development of the electricity an energy sectors, as well as for the security industry, necessary for the social and economic development. For that, IFEMA, as one of the most important European companies in Latin America, in collaboration with FISA, leader of the Trade Fair sector in the region, organizes the first edition of MATELEC Latin America, a Trade Fair which offers a “Global Solution” for the electricity sector and intelligent technology, together with the second edition of GENERA Latin America, the most up-to-date trade fair for the renewal energy and efficiency. IFEMA trade fair proposal for Chile is completed with SICUR Latin America, International Security Exhibition, from 30 September to 2 October, dealing with the safety sector from a global perspective.

The strategic alliance with FISA allows optimum development of these trade shows which

represent a magnificent opportunity for companies looking to increase their

internationalisation, and access a market like Chile, which has great opportunities in the

electricity and energy sectors.

This situation will also be reflected in the MATELEC - GENERA 2015 International Congress

which will take place alongside and in the same context as the exhibition “Trends in the

Electrical, Electronics and Automation Sector. For a country with greater technology,

efficiency and integral solutions”

The activities at both trade shows will be completed with a Business Roundtable, which on

Wednesday 7 October, which will put the exhibiting companies - generators of biofuels,

biomass, energy efficiency, and renewable energy in general, technology providers, providers

of electrical installation components, lighting solutions for intelligent cities, etc. – into contact
