assembled from two types of modules like LEGO bricks within a few hours at any place.

Small-series desalination module

Desalination module DB8SW030 with capacity up to 30 m3/day.

There are no pipelines in any of the modules. All pipes constituting inseparable parts of

conventional desalination systems are substituted with channels in blocks (which act as

a support and the main frame of the system) in all desalination plants of the company

Aqua-Life. Besides, the plants built from modules DB8SW150, DB8SW200 or

DB8SW250 also have a modular design which allows building a water desalination

factory of any capacity. All the modules are easy and convenient to service and maintain.

The design of the modules makes it possible to clean with the help of CIP systems

therefore the module of each series has special connections for CIP cleaning.

A shortcoming of existing axial-piston pumps in Reverse Osmosis desalination plants is that there

is no energy recovery system in them meant to use the energy of reject concentrate. It’s

important to note that with no energy recovery system in the pump it’s required to install a higher

powered drive resulting in higher energy costs when running a RO desalination plant or to install

some additional devices to recover energy which would lower energy costs but increase the price

of RO desalination plant itself.

Energy recovery system of APPR axial-piston pump allows to recover some certain amount of

concentrate produced within the desalination cycle. It is especially applicable to RO plants where

the amount of liquid to be recovered is unsteady and fluctuates depending on salt content of

pumped liquid, type and condition of a reverse osmosis membrane, etc. Thus, concentrate

energy to be recovered also fluctuates during the operation process of the desalination plant

hence the energy recovery system must automatically adjust to the fluctuations in a certain way

to fully use this energy. In the axial-piston pumps APPR the energy recovery unit is specially

designed to make maximum use of energy of concentrate produced in the desalination process

irrespective of its amount. As a result, we get higher operation efficiency of an axial piston

hydraulic pump combined with an energy recovery unit APPR.

Thus, usage of axial piston pump APPR in the RO applications helps to improve efficiency of

energy recovery system and lower electric energy costs of pump drive. Besides, noise and

vibration levels also decrease as well as wear of friction parts of the pump. As a result, we have

lower energy costs while operating a desalination plant, higher volume efficiency, longer pump

and the whole desalination plant lives.

Desalination plants The company Aqua-Life would like to present the desalination plants that can be built

from modules available in two series.

To build a desalination plant with capacity of up to 25-150 m3/day it is rational to use

DB8SW030 series modules. Each module of this series can produce up to 30 m3 of

permeate/day. To build a desalination plant with capacity of 150-1000 m3/day it is

rational to use DB8SW150, DB8SW200 and DB8SW250 series modules. Each module

of above series has the capacity of up to150 m3/day*, 200 m3/day and 250 m3/day. The

modules from each series are 100 % unified and differ from each other only by the

number of membrane elements.

*maximum permeate production capacity at TDS 32,000 PPM NaCl and temperature of

25оС.
