Dear Families, It is with great pleasure that we announce the details for our first Camp Empower 2015. Camp Empower is the first camp of its kind bridging the principles of Cognitive Developmental therapy with sensory and behavior interventions. During camp the campers will be immersed in an educational, sensory and attachment rich environment. Campers will be one‐on‐one with a trained “Buddy” that will be with them throughout the week. We will also have four staff professionals that will oversee each therapeutic group. A normal day at Camp Empower will consist of the campers rotating between brain games groups, sensory groups, and behavioral script groups. Throughout all the therapeutic groups, the children will practice the skills needed to see gains in working memory, attention, critical thinking, and practice emotional and behavioral self‐regulation skills. Camp Empower will be held at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama on June 22-26 th , 2015. At this time, we will only be able to accept a maximum of 15 children. The total cost of this therapeutic camp is $600. A deposit of $250 will be due at the time the application is submitted. The application is due by May 15, 2015. The remainder of the camp balance will be due no later than June 5, 2015.
