General Island MPA will be reach by boat from the mainland Cantilan in 45 min.

Benefits /Impacts
Benefits: Less fishing effort (FGD) Increase catch at areas adjacent to the MPAs (anecdote reports only by the fishers)
Impacts: Coral cover and fish abundance increases from 2004-2010, but decline in 2010. (fig. 1&2) by FISH Project Increasing awareness building, institutionalization of the CRM Program in the LGUDecrease in violations (Police blotter)

1. Intrusion of compressor fishing with cyanide from neighboring barangay and municipalities especially during northeast monsoon
2. Siltation from unsustainable forest, upland and agricultural areas including mining
3. Encroachment of commercial fishing within the municipal water

Recommendations
Livelihood development both alternative and MPA-based (i.e. user’s fee system, preferential rights on the use of controlled fishing in the buffer zones
