1. Fresh (drinking) water at sea can be produced by means of desalination for which an evaporator or Reverse Osmosis plant is required.

Also fresh drinking water can be bunkered from shore or from water barges. Hatenboer-Water manufactures Demitec® Reverse Osmosis

seawater desalinators. 2. Hadex®, approved drinking water disinfectant, can be dosed in water maker product water, bunkering water and/or fresh

water to distribution system. As an effective and essential method to reduce the number of micro-organisms and to avoid bacterial growth in the fresh water storage tanks and piping systems. Hadex can be dosed manually or by means of our automatic flow-controlled dosing units.

3. Neutralising (Mineralising) filters are used for the conditioning of the product water from the evaporator or reverse osmosis desalinator.

The water from a water maker hardly contains any natural hardness and the water has a low pH. To prevent corrosive (brown rusty water)

and harmful effects of this pure product water, neutralising is applied.4. Hydrophore units containing f.w. pump(s), pressure tank, switch board and accessories pressurise the system to the tap points in the

required quantity. Standard and custom-built hydrophore units are available.

5. Fine filters remove solid impurities such as rust, sand and all kind of other debris from the water. Especially at locations where the water contains turbid matter we advise fine filtration of the water as a basic treatment step in water purification.

A wide range of filters for all capacities and specific applications and conditions is available.

5.1 Activated carbon filters improve the taste and appearance of the water, removing organic

micro-pollutants such as traces of hydrocarbons (oil, solvents). Activated carbon filters are also used for de-chlorination. Hatenboer-Water

activated carbon filters are available in two different versions, being: a) bulk filling filters andb) cartridge filters with quick-change elements.6. Potable Water Stabiliser Dosing system used in

system where problems with corrosion are in the distribution system (rusty water).

The HW-Stabiliser 445 chemical stabilises the corrosion layer in the piping system and forms a hard layer, stopping any further corrosion.7. Ultra Violet (UV) Disinfection Systems eliminate

the bacteria in the fresh water. An UV system has to be installed as last treatment step to the users tap points. Our Demitec® UV’s can be equipped with a power-control module, incl.

options meeting international standards. The UV-series cover all capacities, are reliable,

compact and made of top quality materials. 8. Hot water calorifiers provide the hot water needed on board for galley, showers, laundry,

etc. The heating can be electric, steam, hot water or thermal oil, whatever is available on board. The calorifiers are specially constructed for maritime use, ready for installation and

approvals of DNV, LR, GL and ABS available. 9. Water softeners are required to protect water-fed equipment, such as oil separators,

boilers, cooling and piping systems against formation of mineral scale. A wide range of automatic controlled single and duplex water softeners is available.

10. De-ionised pure water is required for batteries, chemicals, analysis and special cleaning. Our mixed bed de-ionisers purify the fresh water down to an electrical conductivity of < 5 μS/cm.

11. Water coolers provide cold fresh consumption water on the spot. Our standard water coolers deliver up to 50 l/h of chilled water and are available as a standing floor unit and as a wall mounted unit. A complete range of coolers is available to cover your needs.

12. For quality control and proper maintenance of the fresh drinking and technical water systems on board we deliver test kits and portable laboratory instruments for most parameters, such as pH, conductivity, hardness, chlorine, etc.

Hatenboer-Water also specialises in the design, engineering and construction of Complete (Hot & Cold) Domestic Fresh Water modules. These pre-assembled modules have exactly those components from the

above list as required in a specific situation. All components are inter- connected and wired; only an interface connection and a central power

cable remain to be connected. In this way, yards can save very much time.
