We offer access to projects and grants of fines arts and a safe location to come to and join art classes for children and young people. Therefore, when the European Union 2010 launched its European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, we saw this as a unique opportunity to get involved and to support this initiative. We came up with the idea of the, European Canvas Project: “The Children‘s Bridge“. Children from all the 27 European Union Member States would paint at least one square meter of canvas with their vision and their ideas about Europe. After the completion of the 27 national contributions, 27 square meters full of colorful inter- pretations will be a huge artwork of the idea of a United Europe.

We strongly believe that each and every child regardless of his or her social back-ground is entitled to a childhood free of worries and full of happiness.

This common vision of 50 volunteers with diverse professional backgrounds was the reason to found and continue to support the association KRASS e.V.. We offer access to projects and grants of fines arts and a safe location to come to and join art classes for children and young people.

Therefore, when the European Union 2010 launched its European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, we saw this as a unique opportunity to get involved and to support this initiative.

Who we are and what we do:

In the background of KRASS e.V. is the Düsseldorf-based foundation ‘Stiftung Kultur für Kinder’. Between its goals is to provide a secure financial basis for the work of our association. The executive team of KRASS e.V. and all external volunteers are the ones who do the work for and with the children. Via KRASS e.V.:

• We help children and teens to develop a healthy self-esteem, learn about their strengths and find ways to express themselves.

• We believe that learning about fine arts and being creative helps children to build a positive future for themselves.

• We give grants to financially disadvantaged or talented children.

• We run the KinderKunstHaus, a special house where children can come and take part in arts and crafts classes, we run workshops where we link art with natural sciences.

• We operate mobile art studios for children, we run art projects in schools, we sponsor schools for children with special needs and we transfer our knowl edge to partners in other cities and other countries.

Please help us to continue this wonderful work and support as many childrenas possible. Visit our internet site: www.krass-ev.de
