Integrated Health, Inc. (Houston, Texas) – Summer Intern May 2014 - August 2014Worked under the guidance of the Registered Dietician and the Wellness Coordinators of Integrated Health Inc. (IHI), along with other IHI professionals, to gain a comprehensive and beneficial supervised experience in the real life worksite environment of health and wellness.

Created and implemented four culinary classes for British Petroleum (BP) Wind Energy employees. Conducted a cost and nutrient analysis for all recipes used for the culinary classes. The analyses were provided to the employees in the form of a hand-out which was distributed at the beginning of each class. Created educational, promotional and evaluation materials for the classes.

Assisted Registered Dietitian in health screenings, which included the recording and interpretation of body anthropometrics and lab values. In addition, assisted Registered Dietitian with the nutrition education of the screening participants. Inventoried all health screening equipment for IHI clients (including BP offshore employees and contractors).

Worked with IHI team members in the improvement, maintenance, and promotion of BP Wind Energy's Wellness Program.

Created and distributed promotional material regarding the activities of the Wellness Program via email, bulletin board updates, and individual discussions.

Assisted Wellness Coordinator in the formative evaluation and implementation of the "Stretch and Bend" project to be used by BP Wind Energy employees, including turbine site employees and independent contractors.

Designed and outfitted space for blood pressure screening and monitoring equipment for the personal use of BP Wind Energy employees.

Created educational materials on achieving and maintaining healthy blood pressure, including tips for decreasing salt intake (flyers, posters). Created an educational booklet, which included recipes and shopping lists for the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet.
