Low budget filming
• The producers of British films don’t get a lot of money invested in them so they do all they can to make the film good with the low budget they have and they also have to try to get a profit so they can pay back there investors. However there are high budget British films such as Les Miserables.
Natural lighting
• The natural lighting is used in British films because it makes the films looks more real which is what British directors want in their films. British films try to get an accurate vision of life in their films, so they don’t add lights to make the scene brighter, they keep the lights as natural as possible.
Realistic settings
• The directors of the film try to use real settings such as someone's home or an alleyway, they do this because they to make the film look real and natural.
• Scottish films in particular focus more on urban settings. They do this because a place or setting tells a whole story on its own to the audience watching the film. Like an urban setting tells the audience that the people either living or passing through like to spend time caring for nature.
