God selected certain men called prophets to write down His

words.

He chose 40 different men who wrote different parts of the

Bible.

The time between the first prophet’s writing and the last

prophet’s writing was about 1600 years (1500 BC - 100 AD).

All but one of these men were Hebrews, and they wrote down

God’s words in their own languages –Hebrew, Aramaic,

and Greek.

Even though it was written by 40 different men, the Bible is

consistent.

www.turnbacktogod.com

Verse 1

God is eternal (He was already there); the world is not eternal.

www.turnbacktogod.com

God is supreme (above all things) and sovereign.

www.turnbacktogod.com

God is perfectly intelligent enough to have made the world.

www.turnbacktogod.com

God is perfectly powerful enough to have made everything all at

once.

www.turnbacktogod.com

God is completely independent of everything and everyone.(He existed without creation before

He made it.)

www.turnbacktogod.com

Verse 2

God is spirit (invisible, can’t be seen).

www.turnbacktogod.com

God is present everywhere.

www.turnbacktogod.com

Verse 3

God created the world simply by speaking.

www.turnbacktogod.com

It began by the power of His Word; everything began this

way.

Verse 1

If you saw a painting in my home, you would ask me “Who made this painting?” not “What made

this painting?”

In other words, creativity demands personality; God

created the world, therefore, He is personal or has personality.

Covenants

Another name for a covenant is a testament.

www.turnbacktogod.com

What is a covenant?

Covenant - a strong agreement between two people wanting to

form a relationship.

www.turnbacktogod.com

God wanted to form relationship with man. The being that created

all things wanted to know personally one of the things He

created.

www.turnbacktogod.com

This demonstrates the personal side of God. Even the divisions of the Bible show that God has desired relationship from the beginning.

Old Testament/Covenant and the New Testament/Covenant.
