MAGNETOMETER SURVEYP. ENGLISH PROPERTY
MCKENZIE ISLAND ONTBY
C.D.HUSTON,P. ENG. JULY 15,2000
SUMMARY:
THE PROPERTY CONSISTS OF 5 RECORDED MINING CLAIMS NUMBERED 1234016,1234017,1234018,1234019,1234020 LOCATED IN THE TOWNSHIP OF DOME, RED LAKE MINING DIVISION, ONTARIO. THE PROPERTY IS RECORDED IN THE NAME OF MR. P. ENGLISH, SOURIS, MANITOBA AND IS CURRENTLY HELD UNDER OPTION BY CYPRESS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA.
MR. BOB HEILMAN, CONTRACTOR OWNER OF SKYLINE MINERAL EXPLORATION, THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO, WAS CONTRACTED TO COMPLETE LINE CUTTING DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE JULY,2000 AND C.D. HUSTON WAS CONTRACTED TO COMPLETE A MAGNETOMETER SURVEY OVER THE CUT LINES. THE REPORT HEREIN IS A RESULT OF THAT WORK.
MAGNETOMETER SURVEY:
THE INSTRUMENT USED WAS AN EXPLORANIUMMAGNETOMETER WITH LED DIGITAL READOUTS OF PLUS OR MINUS ONE GAMMA. THE TOTAL MAGNETIC FIELD DATA HAS BEEN PLOTTED AND HAS BEEN CONTOURED AS SHOWN ON THE ENCLOSED PLANS. THE MAGNETIC BACKGROUND FOR THE AREA WAS ASSUMED AT 60,000 GAMMAS.
READINGS WERE TAKEN ALONG THE CUT PICKET LINES AT INTERVALS OF 25 METERS WITH THE PICKET LINES CUT AT 100 METER SPACINGS. ALL READINGS HAVE BEEN CORRECTED FOR DIURNAL VARIATION WHICH HAS BEEN MINIMAL.
PARTS OF ADJOINING CLAIM NUMBERED 1185145 OWNED BY CYPRESS DEV. CORP. HAS ALSO BEEN INCLUDED WITH THIS SURVEY AND DATA PRESENTED HEREIN.
THE WATER PORTION OF THE PROPERTY WAS NOT COVERED AT THIS TIME AND WILL REQUIRE FURTHER WINTER WORK..
OPEN FILE MAP 231,DOME TOWNSHIP INDICATES A CONTINUOUS ZONE OF CHERT-MARBLE FORMATION ALONG THE ENTIRE WEST SHORELINE OF THE PROPERTY. IT IS ALSO NOTED THAT DURING THE WINTER MONTH OF MARCH, 2000, THE AUTHOR FOUND SEVERAL ZONES OF RUSTY WEATHERING PYRITE MINERALIZATION ALONG THE WEST SHORE OF MCKENZIE ISLAND ,PARTICLILARLY AT THE SOUTHERN END OF THE ISLAND. SUBSEQUENT ASSAYING OF THIS MATERIAL DID NOT SHOW ANY GOLD CONCENTRATIONS.
THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF CLAIM 1234020 IS INDICATED TO BE UNDERLAIN BY QUARTZ DIORITE FORMATIONS AND THIS FORMATION IS SLIGHTLY ANOMALOUS BEING IN THE RANGE OF 60,00 TO 61,000 GAMMA RANGE. A LARGE AREA WITH ELEVATED RELIEF HAS BEEN NOTED HERE. THIS ANOMALOUS AREA APPEARS TO CONTINUE WESTWARD INTO THE WILLIAMSON PROPERTY.
THE MCKENZIE GOLD MINE HAS BEEN INDICATED TO BE LOCATED WITHIN A RATHER COMPLEX INTRUSIVE STOCK WHICH IS IN THE CONTACT AREA BETWEEN THE VOLCANIC ROCKS AND SEDIMENTARY ROCKS. THE VOLCANIC ROCKS MAINLY COMPOSED OF PORPHYRTIC QUARTZ LATITE AND THE SEDIMENTARY BEDS MAINLY OF INTERBEDDED GREYWAKE AND ARGILLITE, WITH INDIVIDUAL BEDS OF UP TO 10 INCHES IN THICKNESS.
THE GENERAL GEOLOGY OF THE ENGLISH CLAIMS IS INDICATED TO BE MOSTLY COMPOSED OF A LARGER AREA OF PORPHYRITIC QUARTZ LATITE OF ACID TO INTERMEDIATE VOLCANICS. CARBONATED SECTIONS CAN BE SEEN ALONG THE WEST SHORELINE AT SEVERAL LOCATIONS AND PYRITE HAS BEEN NOTED.
AT THE SHORELINE AREA OF CLAIM 1234019 AND 1185145 READINGS OF SIGNIFICANCE HAVE BEEN OBTAINED WHICH SHOWS AN DEFINITE ANOMALOUS AREA HERE. READINGS OF UP TO 64,000 GAMMAS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED AT ISOLATED LOCATIONS AND MAY JUSTIFY FURTHER DETAILED STUDY.
CONCLUSIONS:
THE MAGNETOMETER SURVEY HAS INDICATED SEVERAL ANOMALOUS AREAS THAT REQUIRE FURTHER FOLLOW-UP. IT IS NOTED THAT OVERBURDEN OVER LARGE AREAS OF POTENTIAL GOLD
BEARING FORMATIONS IS SLIGHT ESPECIALLY ALONG THE SHORELINE. PROSPECTING OF THIS PROPERTY IS RECOMMENDED BY MEANS OF PRESSURE WASHING. SEVERAL OLD TRENCHES WERE NOTED DURING THE COURSE OF THE SURVEY BUT VERY LITTLE EXTENSIVE WORK HAS BEEN DONE.
THERE WAS NO TRACEABLE SIGNIFICANT MAGNETIC READINGS, HOWEVER, NUMEROUS ANOMALOUS DISCONTINLIED READINGS WERE OBTAINED OVER SHORT DISTANCES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROPERTY. UP TO 3000 GAMMAS ABOVE BACKGROUND WERE SEEN AND AN ATTEMPT RAS BEEN MADE TO HIGHLIGHT THESE BY CONTOURING AS SHOWN ON THE ENCLOSED MAPS.
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED,
C.D. HUSTON, P.ENG.
