Hospital Incentive Payment
Calculator
The Program will provide incentive
payments to eligible Acute
Care and Children’s
Hospitals as they adopt, implement, upgrade or
demonstrate meaningful use of
certified EHR technology.

Eligibility - Patient Volumes
Acute care hospitals• At least 10% Medicaid patient
volume• 90-day period in calendar year
preceding payment year• Average length of stay: ≤25 days
Children's hospitals• No Medicaid patient volume
requirements• Children’s wings of larger hospitals are

Incentive Amounts
Base amount adjusted according to the results of the hospital incentive calculator
Payments do not have to be consecutive if the hospital registers BEFORE 2016
Total incentive payment is divided into three (3) payments of 40%, 40% and 20%
