BIOGRAFIAGERARD PIQU BERNABEULugar de nacimiento y/o fecha de
nacimiento: 2 de febrero de 1987 en Barcelona,EspaaGerard Piqu
Bernabeu, conocido simplemente como Piqu, es un futbolista
espaol que juega como defensa en el F.C. Barcelona. En apenas 2
aos en esteclub, se ha convertido en uno de los mejores defensas
del mundo. Es uno de loscuatro futbolistas junto con Marcel
Desailly, Paulo Sousa y Samuel Eto'o en ganarla UEFA Champions
League dos aos seguidos con dos equipos diferentes. Secaracteriza
por su corpulencia, excelente colocacin sobre el terreno de juego,
sercasi infranqueable en el uno contra uno y por su gran calidad a
la hora de salir conel baln jugado desde atrs, esta calidad con el
baln le hacen ser un defensabastante goleador.
PRIMEROS AOS
Comenz a jugar en la cantera blaugrana a los 10 aos, en el Alevn
A. A partir deaqu fue pasando por los diferentes escalones
canteranos consiguiendo ttulos yhaciendo bastantes mritos tanto en
el Alevn A, como en el Infantil B y el A, elCadete B y A y el
Juvenil B y A. En el Cadete B, precisamente, tuvo como tcnicoa Tito
Vilanova, con quien se encontr en su regreso a Barcelona.
En todo este proceso de crecimiento y aprendizaje, Gerard Piqu
demostr unagran adaptacin a diferentes posiciones en el campo y una
notable capacidadgoleadora para tratarse de un jugador de carcter
defensivo.
Jug en todas las categoras inferiores del F.C. Barcelona. Sin
embargo firm su
primer contrato profesional con el Manchester United, uno de los
clubes de laPremier League inglesa, donde se pudo formar como
profesional.
MANCHESTER UNITED
Debut con el primer equipo del Manchester United en octubre de
2004sustituyendo a John O'Shea en la victoria del equipo red por
0-3 ante el Crewe
Alexandra, en tercera ronda de la Carling Cup.
Firm su segundo contrato con los ingleses en febrero de 2005,
despus de tenervarias buenas actuaciones en el equipo reserva del
equipo de Manchester. Su
debut como titular en el primer equipo lleg el 26 de marzo de
2006, en un partidode Premier League ante el West Ham United.
REAL ZARAGOZA
En el verano de 2006, el Manchester United y el Real Zaragoza
llegaron a unacuerdo para la cesin del jugador por una
temporada.

Piqu tuvo bastante participacin jugando tanto de central como de
pivote pordelante de la defensa. El jugador cataln tom parte en 22
partidos de Liga,dieciocho de stos como titular, y marc dos goles.
Form en el centro de ladefensa junto al argentino Gabriel Milito.
Tambin actu en la posicin demediocentro defensivo con solvencia. El
equipo finaliz en la 6 posicin,
clasificndose as para disputar la Copa de la UEFA.
VUELTA AL MANCHESTER UNITED
El Manchester United anunci en mayo de 2007 que Piqu volvera a
la entidadinglesa tras su buena temporada en Espaa.
Piqu entr a formar parte del primer equipo. Marc su primer gol
en la UEFAChampions League el 7 de noviembre de 2007, ante el
Dinamo de Kiev de la ligaucraniana en la fase de grupos. Volvi a
marcar en dicha competicin el 12 dediciembre, frente al AS
Roma.
Esa temporada consigui el ttulo de la Premier League con el
Manchester Unitedy tambin la UEFA Champions League de la temporada.
En la mximacompeticin europea tuvo una participacin destacada,
sobre todo en la liguillainicial, en la cual hizo dos goles.
F.C. Barcelona
El 27 de mayo de 2008, Piqu firm un contrato de 4 aos con el
F.C. Barcelonacon una clusula de 50 millones de euros.5 De la mano
del tcnico JosepGuardiola, Piqu se convirti en uno de los activos
ms importantes para ladefensa azulgrana. Se convierte en un fijo en
el eje de la defensa y anota hastatres goles uno en cada competicin
en los 45 partidos en los que participa.Demuestra su gran capacidad
de sacar el baln desde atrs y su facilidad parasumarse al ataque.
El equipo cataln firm una primera vuelta histrica,consiguiendo 50
puntos.
El 2 de mayo de 2009 anot el sexto gol en la goleada histrica
por 2-6 que el F.C.Barcelona consigui frente al Real Madrid en el
Estadio Santiago Bernabu.
El 13 de mayo de ese ao fue titular en la final donde su equipo
se proclamcampen de la Copa del Rey, partido que venci el club
blaugrana por 1-4enfrentndose al Athletic Club de Bilbao.
El 16 de mayo gan su primer ttulo de Primera Divisin de Espaa,
al perder elReal Madrid por 3-2 frente al Villarreal C.F., siendo
campen matemticamente elF.C. Barcelona.
Esa misma temporada, el 27 de mayo formara parte del once
titular del F.C.Barcelona que disput la final de la UEFA Champions

Olmpico deRoma. El F.C. Barcelona venci por 2-0 gracias a los goles
de Eto'o y el argentinoMessi, consiguiendo as Piqu su segunda UEFA
Champions League consecutiva.
El 26 de febrero de 2010, Gerard Piqu renov su contrato con el
F.C. Barcelona
hasta 2015 con una clusula de rescisin de 200 millones de
euros.
El 22 de septiembre de 2010, Gerard Piqu alcanz frente al
Sporting de Gijn, supartido oficial n 100 con el F.C.
Barcelona.
Seleccin nacional
Ha sido internacional en 30 ocasiones con la seleccin espaola.
Debut, comotitular, el 11 de febrero de 2009 en un partido amistoso
ante Inglaterra en elRamn Snchez Pizjun, Sevilla. El 28 de marzo de
2009, en su segundo partidointernacional, en el Estadio Santiago
Bernabu ante Turqua, anot su primer gol

ROYAL(REAL) SARAGOSSA
