The bilateral support conzept
The dual vocational Training partnership is a poverty alleviating support
through sustainable economic development of Partner country-(Nigeria)
of German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development
Objective and Bilateral concept of Dual Vocational Training Partnership
Chambers and associations in selected locations in Nigeria have introduced an approach of dual vocational Training in selected professions which have been adjusted to Nigerian conditions
Through direct know-how transfer, technical training institutions will be empowered to provide practice-oriented training.

Overall Project Objective:
Increase level of qualifications and employability of young men and women in
selected vocational professions and locations for them to find jobs and receive
income which guarantees their existence. Quality & Services of companies
taking part in Training increases as a consequence of employing people who are
better qualified
Project Purpose:
Chambers and associations in selected locations in Nigeria have introduced an
approach of dual vocational training in selected professions which has been
adjusted to Nigerian conditions.
Result 1 Relevant occupations have been identified and existing curricula
have been further developed (adapted) according to dual
vocational training approach.
Result 2 Nigerian vocational Trainers have been Trained.
Result 3 School leavers / graduate and young adults have been trained
according to the dual vocational training approach

occupations in electrics, electronic automation and drive
engineering technique for the manufacturing industry
b)Industrial mechanic: comprising occupations like
mechanics, machine processing, maintenance and welding.
c)Maintenance and technical facility management which enco
mpasses professions like builder, mason, tiller ,metal fabrica
tion and construction, plumbers and pipe fitting, carpentry &
woodwork for the construction industry.

Development of adapted curricula for a one
year basic education within the dual system
Advanced training of Nigerian trainers in
theoretical as well as methodological regards

Entry test by project organizers (IHK Giessen-Friedberg) Augmentation of existing training facilities in training centers
Technical schools / training centers e.g. ITF , IIT, etc. supply trainers •Impact theoretical and practical knowledge about 35%

TRAINING (1 year duration) •Takes place at about 70% in the industry
