THE CATALOG SYSTEM

The cataloging system is loosely based on the set up of the MICHELDEUTSCHLAND SPEZIAL KATALOG Vol.1 & 2. There are now 17 sections. See pagev for a complete listing. Everything is now in a logical order beginning with Section A) TheOld German States and ending with Section S - Remainder [material that may be too broadto fit into anyone specific section, topic or category]. Each item in the library is now listedusing an Alpha-Numeric format [see below].

ALL BOOKS AND PERIODICALS

Example: A01.01A = Old States

A01 = BadenA01.01 = [Baden] ALT-DEUTSCHLAND UNTER DER LUPE

by Mueller Mark, Vol. 1 - Baden.

A14.01 = [Saxony] ALT-DEUTSCHEN UNDER DERLUPE by Mueller Mark, Vol. 10Saschen.

CLIPPINGS

All the clippings are now keep in separate folders and the listings will be found at theend of each subsection. They begin .500 followed by CL.

Example: B01.500CL:B01 = Deutsches Reich: 1872-1918:

B01.500CL = The “Germania Stamps with Overprints” issued by the Republic of Poland, 1918 to 1919 by H. Hinz, clipping from Germania, 5 pp.

Occasionally, after certain section listings, you will find the following sub heading:“Miscellaneous [non-topic specific].” This means that the items listed are a compilation of topicswithin the specific section and may contain material relating to two or more areas within thatsection.

Note: The vast majority of material, in the library, is written in either English or German.However, some items are in French, Italian, Polish or Croatian.
