Windows 10 DeploymentRequests to roll out Windows 10 into environments is commonplace for IT departments. Intergen gives you the option to start with a solid foundation Base Offering, and build from there by consuming four high spec Premium Offerings. Microsoft has invested heavily in providing the right tools to deploy Windows 10, and Intergen has developed two Proof of Concept offerings designed to introduce Windows 10 to your environment as easily and securely as possible.

WINDOWS 10 PROOF OF CONCEPT OVERVIEW

The Windows 10 Deployment Proof of Concept (PoC) provided by Intergen is split into two offerings:

• Base Offering – A three day engagement to deliver an automated build of Windows 10 to three hardware models. Includes Office 2016 and joins the device to the domain

• Premium Offering – Leveraging the Base Offering, Intergen will deliver additional benefits and features which can be customised to suit your requirements. e.g. BitLocker, Group Policies and application management

BASE OFFERING

The Base Offering, three day, Windows 10 PoC engagement will provide the following components:

• A task sequence to provide a “Lite Touch”, automated install of Windows 10

• Office 2016 Professional Plus included in the build

• The task sequence will be able to build the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 device, plus two other hardware models of your choice

• The choice of the build being delivered via Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) or a pre-existing Configuration Manager 2012 solution

• The choice of deploying Windows 10 Professional or Windows 10 Enterprise editions

• The devices will be domain joined during the build process

• Windows 10 will be activated during the build process (if existing solution present)

• Configuration Manager client included (if using Configuration Manager for deployment)

• Antivirus client will be included in the deployment (if available)

• Windows updates applied using existing deployment solution

• Discussion around Windows 10 Group Policies

Leveraging the Base Offering as the foundation, Intergen also offers the following four optional streams to provide a far richer solution. The streams are available individually as well as combinations thereof, to offer device security, application management, application updates, and guidance on Internet Explorer migration.

Enhancing the Windows 10 experience

Users are increasingly required to be more mobile. And as such, security of the devices they use is paramount. Intergen recognises this risk and provides the following enhancements in a three day engagement:

• Enable BitLocker per device during the build process

• Create and apply BitLocker Group Policy

• Automating device object movements within Active Directory (AD)

• Install Microsoft ADMX templates to manage Group Policy for Windows 10 and Office 2016

• Apply Windows 10 security baseline Group Policy to Windows 10 devices

• Provide Windows 10 Group Policy recommendations to manage Windows 10 features in the environment

• Setup Microsoft Key Management Server (KMS) to automate Windows 10 and Office 2016 license activation

• Enable Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) Boot to allow machines to be built via the network

Application Management

Having an automated, stable, deployment of Windows 10, provides the platform for the end users to access the applications required to perform their duties. Intergen offers assistance with:

• Assessment of applications for installation on Windows 10

• Packaging of approved applications for deployment

Third Party Patch Management

To ensure a secure solution, Intergen has partnered with Flexera to provide third party patch management to non-Microsoft applications. Intergen provides this in a two day engagement:

• Intergen will implement the Flexera Software patch management solution on a 30 day trial. This will be deployed up to 100 end points across the environment

Internet Explorer Insight

From 12th January 2016, Microsoft is only providing support for Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 11. All other versions of IE are considered End of Support. Thereby, migration to IE11 is vital to maintain a secure environment.

• Intergen will provide expert insight, migration strategies and advice for testing Line of Business applications to migrate to IE11, during a half day engagement
