CoralWatch has trained >40 Ambassadors throughout Queensland that assist with events, reach out and deliver positive messages to inspire audiences to act to protect our coral reefs. The CoralWatch Ambassador program provides you the opportunity to be part of a citizen science community that knows what’s happening to our reefs, collects and analyses CoralWatch data, shares results and educates others about the importance of reefs. WORKSHOP CONTENT• Learn about the CoralWatch program, Coral Health Chart surveys, data entry, coral biology, corals in Moreton Bay• Practice your Ambassador position (roleplay, science communication, planning, risk assesments, project development)• Meet your fellow Ambassadors and work together on ideas to raise awareness about corals in Moreton Bay

YOUR CONTRIBUTION• Engage in Moreton Bay community events (schools, festivals, workshops, conferences)• Collect and upload Coral Health Chart data and inspire others• Report/liaise on outreach activities and experiences to CW• $50 AUD workshop contribution• Travel to Cleveland from your location

EGLIBILITY• Participants have to be based in Brisbane / Moreton Bay area• Confident swimmer/snorkeler• Available to attend a 4-day workshop at Moreton Bay

Research Station on North Stradbroke Island from 30 September - 3 October 2020• Available in volunteer capacity for at least one year,

starting October 2020

Ambassador

Participants will be selected through a formal application process. Download the application form from CoralWatch (https://coralwatch.org/index.php/ambassadors/)

and propose your Ambassador ideas to CoralWatch before 1 September. CoralWatch will deliver a 4-day workshop, materials, expertise and onward support with a certificate upon completion. Participants pay for their own transport to Cleveland (QLD), and a workshop contribution fee of $50 AUD.
