Starting in January 2015, IHG® Rewards Club is bringing back theEnroll For Rewards incentive program an incentive program toreward Front Desk teams and Champions for enrolling newmembers and capturing valid email addresses.

The program will be the same: meet your hotel’smonthlyenrollment and valid email targets to earn 500 IHG® RewardsClub points for every Qualified Enrollment (QE) with a valid emailaddress.

Why is IHG doing this?In very simple language and using short sentences, outline the benefits, the target audience and how it will impact theoperation.

Adding new members to IHG® Rewards Club is necessary for the success of the program. IHG realizes thatmotivating hotel front desk teams to enroll and capture email provides a positive experience that helpsthe hotel and IHG® Rewards Club more easily achieve enrollment, email capture and revenue targets.

The incentive will support hotels and motivate their teams to take action, which will drive increasedenrollments, email capture and future revenue opportunities.

What do I need to do?Describe the steps the GM should follow to implement. If it’s a repeat program, state previous learnings and any new relevantinformation. Include how to overcome any common challenges.

GMs and Champions must share the incentive program launch materials with their front desk teams tomake them aware of the program and its benefits to them. They should share the flyers about theprogram with the team and post them in break rooms or behind the front desk to generate awareness.

GMs and owners also should review the program terms and make sure their teams know the proper wayto enroll and capture emails so that they are in compliance with incentive program rules. Make sure yourhotel has a Champion assigned and that the Champion has access to Source, as this will be where pointswill be posted and messages about the program shared.

How will it be measured?Indicate the metrics that will be used, where the information will be compiled and the frequency.

1. What is the Enroll for Rewards program?

• It is an incentive program designed to award hotel front desk employees and Champions forenrolling new members into IHG® Rewards Club and capturing their email addresses.

• Hotels will receive 500 IHG® Rewards Club points for every Qualified Enrollment (QE) with avalid email when both targets are met.

2. How does the program work?

Meet your hotel’s monthly enrollment and valid email targets to earn 500 IHG® Rewards Clubpoints for every Qualified Enrollment (QE) with a valid email address. The award amount will bebased on the total number of Qualified Enrollments with valid email the hotel gets each month.

3. What is our 2015 monthly goal?

The 2015 monthly enrollment and email targets stay the same as 2014. The monthly andquarterly enrollment and email capture charts can be found on page 7.

4. What is a “Qualified Enrollment”?

A Qualified Enrollment (QE) is an enrollment that:• Is made no earlier than 24 hours before check in and prior to check out• Is attached to a stay• Is made at the same hotel as the stay• Is not a duplicate enrollment

Please note, a valid email address is not required for an enrollment to be a Qualified Enrollment.The rate booked also does not determine if an enrollment is qualified. Example: New enrollees atan OTA rate can be a qualified enrollment.

5. What is a “valid email”?

A valid email is one that:• Is not a duplicate in the IHG® Rewards Club system• Follows standard email format: _____@____._____• Can receive emails as confirmed by the Welcome email and a third party validation company

6. What day of the month do we receive our points?

• Points will be awarded around the 20th of each month directly into IHG® Rewards ClubSource.

7. Our hotel was not paid for all the Qualified Enrollments (QEs) we enrolled lastmonth. Why?

• 2015 program pay outs are based on number of Qualified Enrollments with a valid email (notjust the number of QEs).

• Your hotel may get a high number of QEs for the month; only those that include a valid emailaddress are eligible for an award.

8. Does the standard require an email? What is the difference between the standardrequirement and the Enroll for Rewards requirement?

• The standard is a quarterly target that focuses purely on Qualified Enrollments.• Enroll for Rewards is an incentive program with a monthly target that encourages hotels to

enroll new members and capture their email as a part of the new enrollment.• A hotel can miss the incentive target (by missing the email capture goal) and still be on track

to meet their quarterly standard goal.

9. Why are we requesting that guests provide their email address as part of theirenrollment?

When we ask that a guest provide their email address, they already become a more valuablemember to the program because:

• We can contact them easily and learn about their stay• We can inform them of all of the benefits IHG® Rewards Club has to offer• They are able to activate their account and earn points and early engagement tends to

shorten the length of time until they book again• IHG is able to send promotions and information about our brands and incentives

10. How often will hotels receive their incentive pay out?

• Pay outs will be made monthly to hotels that meet their monthly qualifying enrollment andvalid email targets. Hotels will earn points for every Qualified Enrollment with a valid emailaddress.

• Award points earned will be posted to the Source Enroll for Rewards Distribute Rewards pagewhere they will stay until allocated to individual employees’ or the hotel’s team account.

11. How are the points awarded each month and to whom?

• IHG® Rewards Club will pay out the points to the hotel in one lump amount via Source.• The points will be on the Source Enroll for Rewards Distribute Rewards page until the hotel

GM or Champion decides to deposit them in the hotel team account or in team members’individual IHG® Rewards Club accounts.

• Hotels have the option to pool the points and redeem them for a team award or to distributethem to each employee each month.

• Hotels may also decide to share points evenly or break out the points in another manner.• Hotels will be able to keep the points earned in 2015 in the holding account on the site until

February 15, 2016. All points need to be distributed to the team or redeemed for a teamaward by this date. After February 15, 2016, any points remaining in the Source account willbe forfeited.

12. Are the points earned from Enroll for Rewards Elite status qualifying?

• No, the points earned from Enroll for Rewards are not Elite qualifying and will not helppromote employees at Club level to Gold or Platinum.

13. Can we share our points with team members who did not make enrollments?

• No, the Source Distribute Rewards page will only show a breakout of points for employeesthat made an enrollment that month. Points can only be distributed to associates who madean enrollment.

• If your hotel wants to give points to a non enrolling member, you will need to hold thosepoints in the hotel balance account and have the associate make an enrollment the nextmonth. Then those points, and any additional earned, can be distributed into thatemployee’s account.

• We suggest that all employees use their own enrolling EMP ID number to ensure they are onthe monthly files.

• You can also save points for a team reward–see “How do we redeem our points for a teamaward?” on page 5.

14. Our hotel only used one enrolling ID and we do not see a breakout by employee.What can we do so we can distribute the points to the rest of the team?

• The best solution is to immediately set up the team with their own individual enrolling EMPIDs and have them start inputting enrollments (look for instructions in LoyaltyConnectInitiative page in Merlin).

• Do not distribute the points for the past month.• Keep the points in the hotel balance account.• Have employees enroll using their own individual enrolling EMP IDs.• The next month, the employee’s names will appear and you can divide points among the

team.• Every employee must have their own enrolling EMP ID to ensure they are on the monthly

files.

15. Is there somewhere special employees can go to redeem their points?

• Yes, the Employee Catalog has items to choose from at discounted point value.• This enhanced catalog also applies to hotels pooling points for a team award.• Our goal is to both familiarize hotel teams with the value of awards and the redemption

process, as well as provide an added benefit that only they can get as participants of theEnroll for Rewards program.

16. How do we share the points among members of the front desk team?

• Monthly, when points are allocated in Source, hotels will be able to distribute them intoindividual accounts by selecting employee name on the Distribute Rewards page on Source.

• The site displays the number of enrollments and valid email each employee made that monthso hotels can divide the points based on the actual number of valid emails.

• Hotels also have the option to split the points equally or in any other allocation by inputtingthe number of points they want to distribute.

• The system will not allow hotels to deposit more points than are available in their account.• Individuals who wish to redeem their points for an award from the IHG® Rewards Club

Employee Catalog may do so from their individual account once they have received theirpoints.

• Hotels can also leave their points on the site until February 15, 2016, or deposit them into ateam account to redeem for a team award now or at a later time.

• Points, once awarded into an individual or team account, cannot be retracted. Pleaseconfirm all allocations before submitting.

17. What if we distribute points to the wrong account number?

• If you distribute points to the wrong member number, please contact the Help Desk throughIHG® Rewards Club Source > Contact > Enrollment Incentive > General Inquiry within 5 daysof the distribution.

• Please have all information to correct the distribution (account number, where the pointswere posted to, the account number they should be posted to and number of pointsinvolved) for the Help Desk.

• Any distributions older than 5 days will NOT be corrected. All corrections require IHGmanagement approval.

• If a hotel has too many instances of points deposited into the wrong account, they may beexcluded from the program. Hotels with multiple corrections in one month will not behonored.

18. How do we redeem our points for a team reward?

• Points should be deposited into the General Manager’s IHG® Rewards Club account whenready for a team purchase to be made.

• Only the points needed for the prize should be moved from the hotel balance account to theGeneral Manager’s account.

• IHG® Rewards Club and Maritz (the vendor who manages all member and employeeredemption fulfillment) may briefly hold large team redemption orders to confirm they arevalid and approved.

• Points moved to the GM’s account for a team award and not used within 2 days will beconsidered to be fraudulent activity.

19. Where do hotels go to find out if they earned their award each month?

• Points will be awarded around the 20th of each month directly into IHG® Rewards ClubSource.

• Hotel Loyalty Champions and GMs should visit Source to see how their hotel performed forthe month, see the points awarded to their hotel and make any point distribution to theteam.

20. Can hotels track how they are doing against their enrollment or email targets inreal time?

• Unfortunately, no. Just as in the past, the way enrollment and email data is capturedbetween the hotel PMS and Magic, there is not a way to get accurate real time data on yourenrollments and your hotel’s email captures.

• As before, data will be shared in Performance Tracker the 20th of the next month and on theEnroll for Rewards Source page within days after Performance Tracker.

• We encourage your hotel to enroll as many guests and capture as many emails as you caneach month to ensure you meet (or exceed) your hotel’s monthly targets.

• Your hotel may stroke tally your enrollments and email captures to give some direction, butnote that your numbers may not match the Performance Tracker and Enrollments databecause of duplicates or other factors in the validation process each month.

21. What does our hotel need to do to get started?

• First, review the Participation Agreement and Terms that are posted on Source. Then shareall messages and materials about the program with your Champion and front desk teammembers.

• Please go to Source for helpful information, flyers and resources.• Please also confirm your Champion and front desk team know what is required for an

enrollment to qualify and email to be considered valid.
