GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR NEW WEBSITE

Set up your Google AdSense Account

Step 1: Go to https://www.google.com/adsense

Step 2: Click the “Sign up now” button.

Step 3: Select your Google Account – you may use an existing account with Google or sign up for a new

one

Step 4: Tell us about your content -- Enter your website URL and select your language. Check box at

bottom agreeing to policy rules.



Step 5: Submit your AdSense application – fill out the contact information and click “Submit my

application.”

Note: Google will review your website and email you within 1-5 days once your AdSense account has

been approved.



Creating your Ads

Step 1: Once your account has been approved, login to https://www.google.com/adsense

Step 2: Select the “My ads” tab. Click the “+ New ad unit” button.

Step 3: Enter the name of your new ad unit. This information is for your own use, and will not be

published to visitors.

Step 4: Choose ad size: 300x250 – medium rectangle

Step 5: Leave the rest of the information alone in its default setting. So the settings should be:

Ad type: Text & image/rich media ads

Backup ads: Show blank space

Custom channels: (leave empty)

Ad style: Google default

Step 6: Click “Save and get code” – Copy this code



Step 7: Click on the “+New ad unit” button to create a second ad unit

Step 8: Name your ad unit

Step 9: Choose ad size: 120x600 – wide skyscraper

Step 10: Leave the rest of the information alone in its default setting.

Step 11: Click “Save and get code” – Copy this code





Inputting your Ads into WordPress

Step 1: Login to your WordPress administration panel. Refer to the sign-up email CoolHandle sent you. It

should have your WordPress login details.

Step 2: Click on Dashboard



Step 3: paste the 300x250 code into Affiliate Banner Code 1 and Affiliate Banner Code 2

Step 4: Paste the 120x600 code into Affiliate Banner Code 3

Step 5: Click “Save Changes.”
