Letter from the PresidentDear GCC Members,
As we head towards the Holiday season I wanted to write you a short note about the status of our club. We had a great summer/early fall and have had a nice push of new members since the consolidation of the two clubs back in April. Our membership is healthy but we can certainly accommodate more members. We are currently fi nalizing a very exciting membership campaign that will be rolled out in 2013.
We continue to learn and work to better utilize the two facilities in our combined club. We have faced some challenges and have worked diligently to address issues that have come to our attention. Please keep in mind that this has not been done before in Greenville (the combi-nation of two clubs) and we continue to strive to make the experience as positive as possible for our members. Our staff has been working overtime and they deserve our gratitude for the work they are doing. Please take the time to thank the staff the next time you visit the club. Your board is currently working on several projects that will beautify the club and make it more user friendly as well.
GCC is the best deal going in eastern NC with two beautiful facilities, two championship golf courses in great condition, tennis, dining, pools, etc. We have begun to build something here in Greenville that cannot be matched in eastern NC. Private clubs in the Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte markets charge in the range of 30k-70k in initiation fees for a similar setup and most of them do not have two golf courses for their members to enjoy.
Please take the time to host a friend or a colleague for a day at GCC. Bring them out for lunch, dinner, a round of golf, or all three! We would love to show them around and hopefully get them to join our ranks. Remember, our members are our best ambassadors. Please con-tact Will Davis, our General Manager, if you have a friend interested in membership.
2012 has been a tremendous year. The combining of the two great clubs in town had been talked about for years and was fi nally accom-plished. The marketplace dictated that we adapt to the situation and we have done that. I sincerely believe that the foundation is in place for our club to thrive in the future. It is now up to our members to take the lead and continue to move the club forward into 2013 and beyond to even greater heights.
I wish you all a Happy Holiday season and I hope to see you at the club!
Warm Regards,Ben ParrottGCC President
