Foodstuffs containing processed animal product and plant material are not always automatically composite products.

If the plant product content is necessary for the manufacture of the processed animal product or is there to add special characteristics then it is still assessed as a processed animal product rather than as a composite product and should be imported with the relevant certificate for the type of processed product concerned.
