Coronavirus As you will all be aware there has been significant media attention around the coronavirus. We have no specific concerns for our school but the Department of Education is requesting that all staff and students with respiratory illness stay home until symptoms
cease.
Anyone who has travelled to China, South Korea and Iran since February 1 needs to be excluded from school or work for 14
days.

Science Show
Last Wednesday, students in K-6 went along to Attack of the Plastic Time Monsters, a fast-paced theatrical comedy raising awareness about litter-ing and ocean health. Students watched as the the two comedians cleverly wrapped hilarious moments around surprising facts. Engaging with music, songs, audience participation and along with the laugh out loud comedy, students discov-
ered the answers to questions like-
How many plastic bags do Australians use every
day? 10,000,000
How many years does it take for a plastic bag
to start to bio-degrade? 1,000 years
What is the average ‘use time’ of a plastic Bag?
12 minutes

North Coast Swimming
Last Thursday seven students headed to the Coffs Harbour pool to compete in the North Coast PSSA Swimming
Championships.
Congratulations to our junior girls relay team of Ella Rose F, Amalia L, Mikayla M and Ashley M who placed 6th at
the championships.
Individual swimming by Alekai R-S saw him take 15th place in the 8 Years 50m Freestyle.
Ashley M who also swam in 2 individual races and has made State PSSA swimming by coming in 3rd in the 9
Years 50m Freestyle and 2nd in the Junior Butterfly.
Prepared for a full individual program of Multi Class Swimming, Lexie B came away with 1st in the 100m Free-style, 50m Backstroke and 50m Breastroke. Lexi also had a 2nd place in the 50m Freestyle. For all her hard work
and great results Lexie was named Multi Class swimmer of the carnival.
Ashley and Lexie will now head to Sydney at the end of Term to compete at the
NSW PSSA State Swimmming Championships.
League 7’s Gala Day Last Tuesday 50 students travelled to EJ Biffin fields to play in the 7’s tournament. Enthusiasm was
evident as students arrived at the field ready to play.
All teams showed excellent sportsmanship and combined well to ensure all students were given an
opportunity to tackle, tag or go for that bursting run onto the ball towards the try line.
Great fun was had by all. We would like to thank our marvellous school community for teaming up and organising transport to enable students to get there and for their valued cheering and sup-
port.
Top job from our terrific teams!!!
Basketball
Last Friday 5 keen basketballers took on the best of the Mid North Coast in basketball trials. Each student showed great skills and stamina and worked hard to impress the se-
lectors.
A marvellous effort from Annaliese H, Halo C, Miller B, Tully P and Archie N.
Well done!
