“Botanical Art makes me the person that I am. It helps me to define my relationship with God, by studying some of His greatest creations in Nature. Art allows me to convey my deepest emotions and to evoke feelings in others.

My artwork heals both my heart and my soul and I hope that it can give comfort to others. The balance and intricate design of a plant reassures me of God’s existence. There is a sense of peace and soothing calm in being a Botanical Artist.

ThereThere is tremendous pleasure and a sense of accomplishment that comes with illustrating plants. It requires focus, attention to detail, and patience. The end result is often a sense of understanding and faith in the world and Nature’s beauty.”

Christine Leddy earned her certificate in Botanical Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden in June 2008.

SheShe devotes much of her time to creating and marketing commissioned art, unique evening purses that incorporate antique embroidery and frames, gemstones and beads. Christine has designed a unique collection of inspirational cards that combine her artwork with quotations from the Bible for all occasions.

SheShe has exhibited at the Katonah Museum, Carriage Barn Gallery, Northern Westchester Hospital. Her work hangs in many homes throughout the New York metropolitan area.

C Christine has created a collection of cards that meet the needs of the consumer who wants beautiful cards with spiritual quotes from the Bible. Her elegant depictions of God’s work in Nature, such as the well-loved cardinal or the soft blue petals of hydrangea blossoms, lend a peaceful backdrop for the timeless words of comfort found in Scripture.

Christine’sChristine’s artwork is often the basis for bridal themes and incorporated into the invitations, thank you notes and reception favors. Original art can be custom designed for the Bride and Groom to meet their unique desires for a one of a kind wedding theme.

A MESSAGE OF

Christine began her career as a Botanical Illustrator. The foundation of her artwork is a large collection of unique interpretations of Nature’s bounty. From the plants native to her New England home to the stately pines of the great Midwest, her work reflects an understanding and respect for her subjects and love of God’s work in Nature.

Her chosen mediums are Colored Pencil and Watercolor, but she often incorporates other mediums such as gold leaf and pen and ink into her designs.

MuchMuch of Christine’s works are commissioned; often a favorite flower or a garden treasure is the requested subject. Her work is typically done on large sheets of watercolor paper.

C Certain birds evoke emotions, such as the red cardinal, which holds special meaning for many observers. This bright and gentle bird often appearing in the yard on a snowy cold grey day is a very popular subject in Christine’s commissioned artwork.

Owls are mysterious and elusive birds for those who enjoy aviary art. Christine loves the challenge of capturing the majestic nature of these beautiful birds on paper.

HerHer recent drawing of the eagle is a unique interpretation of the strong bird of prey so representative of this country’s strengths and honor.

L Long before Christine discovered her passion for Botanical Art, she spent many years honing her skills in antique methods of embroidery. There are few people in the world today that are masters of these age old techniques. Inexpensive mass machine production has made fine hand embroidery a rare treasure that can only be observed in museums.

AsAs with Botanical Art, Christine’s attention to color and detail contribute to her unique purses that reflect her knowledge of antique designs with a fresh modern approach.

Her jewelry designs are original and fresh and reflect a love for the gemstones and pearls available today. Existing jewels can be incorporated into new designs for jewelry and purses to add even more special meaning to a gift.
