N.J September 1 Senator James Whelan September 8 Neal Borowski Gina Roche to Perform at Beach Feast GINA ROCHÉ (singer/songwriter, guitarist, mom): Gina Roché, is known for her intensely captivating performances. Roché imbues a Brazilian flavor into her unique blend of jazz, blues and original compositions. Gina has toured Japan, the U.S., the Grand Cayman Islands, and Aruba, singing in different languages with musicians from Brazil, Africa, Japan, Mexico and Puerto Rico, she was an original member of the all female Latina group "Ellas.” A featured artist at Paris and Bally’s in Las Vegas, Gina has performed in nearly every Atlantic City casino in a wide array of genres. In 2002, Gina performed one of her original compositions with a symphony orchestra at The Philadelphia Kimmel Center in an event to honor Ambassador Walter Annenberg. She has performed on Good Morning America and Late Night with Conan O’Brien and alongside renowned artists such as McCoy Tyner and Gerald Veasley. Gina’s debut CD, "Dawning of a New Way" (with Romero Lubambo on guitar) continues to receive rave reviews within the jazz community. Gina Roche to Perform at Beach Feast GINA ROCHÉ (singer/songwriter, guitarist, mom): Gina Roché, is known for her intensely captivating performances. Roché imbues a Brazilian flavor into her unique blend of jazz, blues and original compositions. Club Announcements There are several sign-up sheets being passed around at the weekly meetings. For those members who are unable to attend, please see the following ACRC Community Service Projects and make room in your calendar to sign up to help out at one or more of these events. Serving at any one of these events will count toward membership attendance. ACSID –Atlantic City Special Improvement District & AC Rotary are sponsoring a “Friday Night at the Movies” Series. ACRC has volunteered to help set up the projector and oversee the night’s showing. We are looking for two members to be on hand each Friday Night - August 21st, 28th and September 4th. Most Fridays need two members to attend. E-mail: [email protected] Just 4 Kids and ACRC-“Beach Feast” - Wednesday, August 26th is the day for the second annual culinary festival at the Hilton Beach Bar. Volunteers are needed for set up and breakdown and at the registration table. We are also looking for chefs to make a tasting dish of 300 pieces or more. Each ACRC member will be given 6 $35.00 tickets to sell or purchase. Sell tickets and or take donations. Crocs-4-Kids– President Rose wants everyone to bring in crocs for the kids at the Orphanage. Shop your local dollar stores & bring to a meeting. Were collecting through September Happy News;

Taf called and she is doing great at school, and Claire Sabatini just called to say she is helping with the RNS Show house. Charles Coyle - Happy his daughters are going crazy with collecting Crocs! He gave Rose 3 bags filled with them! Rose McCarthy – Happy to introduce Speaker Michael Everett/ Boys & Girls Club and Champions of Youth Program. Next week no meeting at Hil-ton, instead we will be on the boat trip organized by Marty B. Chas Coyle and Marty B worked last Friday for Indiana Jones. Only a few more Fridays left! The Rotary Vocational Assembly is scheduled for October 4th Whippany NJ– Nominees due today.

The Crocs Campaign is going great! Ken McBride, Marty W, Kathy V, Patty, Herb, Bob, Chas, Woody have given or donated $$ towards our crocs. Remember Rose has them if you want to buy to donate $5 a pair. Our goal is 1200 to be sent in Orphan-age container Upcoming Speakers - Please get the word out in our commu-nity.. We have some powerful and interesting speakers coming up... Joe Corbo, Sen. Whelan to name a few... Lets show off our club. Honor the time of these speakers give to us by your attendance.

Beach Feast Update - Kay.. “Sell tickets! We have over 40 chefs. It will be a wonderful and entertaining event.” Charles thanked Al Magee for his generous contribution to the Scholarship Fund

Our board meeting went very well Monday evening. The board is working hard to approve a balanced budget that, unfortu-nately, reflects rising lunch costs and declined membership.
