Camp A.T.Azalea Trails is located in the San Jacinto Mountains near Idyllwild, CA and is owned and operated by Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council.

At an elevation of over 6,400 feet, the camp is surrounded by beautiful canyons, a tranquil stream and hundreds of pine trees providing the perfect outdoor resident camp setting. For the past 65 years, thousands of girls have experienced the magic that is Camp AT.

Def nitely Fun Core Camp UnitsMy Favorite Gal

3 days »– » Tier I $200 / Tier II $160 / Tier III $120 Bring your mom, grandma, aunt or other favorite adult female to camp. The two of you will make wonderful memories as you participate in general camp activities. Activities that may be enjoyed include horseback riding, low ropes course, archery, hiking, arts and crafts and music. All units sleep in yurts.

NOTE: Adult is responsible for child at all times. Transportation is provided to and from camp.

Def nitely Fun Horse Units

Saddle Up! (Beginning/Intermediate)

Emphasis on instruction, ring work and trail rides. Learn about saddling, grooming, feeding and basic horse care.

Cowgirl Up! (Intermediate)Work on improving riding skills in the ring and on the trail. You will have a chance to spend quality time with the horses. Take a lead role in the overall care of the horses and planning of trail rides. Feed, groom, and saddle up for a wonderful equestrian adventure at camp.

Emphasis in all programs is on Western style instruction and ring work. Girls will spend at least 2 hours in horse unit each full day of camp, with exception of unforeseen circumstances. Participants will work on completing badges and interest projects. Riding ability will determine participation in certain activities. Long jeans are required. Extra riding boots are provided in select sizes; bringing your own is highly recommended. All units sleep in yurts.

Beginning/Intermediate - No experience required to some experience and exposure to horseback riding.

Intermediate - Experience safely riding a docile horse at a walk and trot. Can stop and turn animal.

Begin to take the leap from camper to counselor in this pre-counselor-in-training leadership program. You’ll receive training and give service in designated camp program or operation activities. Plus, you’ll enjoy the activities camp has to offer while working as a part of a group. Opportunity to earn Program Aide Pin.

Discover and connect! Learn more about yourself, your talents and how to share them with children. Explore what the job of being a camp counselor and a leader is all about. You’ll learn the basics in program planning and teaching skills.

Discover, connect and take action! Continue to explore what the challenging and rewarding job of camp counselor is all about. Utilize your skills that you learned as a CIT I. Time will be spent developing interpersonal skills, understanding various age groups when program planning and taking action at camp by assisting counselors.

Def nitely Fun Leadrship UnitsDive into leadership! Experience the joy of teaching younger campers the skills you’ve learned while continuing to improve your newly acquired leadership skills. The leadership programs may require additional paperwork, which will be sent after your camper registration form is received.

Def nitely Fun Specialty UnitsThese units are themed to provide a new and enriching experience for campers. In addition to participating in themed activities all campers get to participate in some general camp activities, such as ropes course, archery, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking (grades 6 and up), arts and crafts and music. All campers earn or work towards earning Try-Its, Junior Badges or Interest Projects. Most units sleep in yurts unless otherwise specified under the unit description.

ARTrageous Explore the world of art! Try painting, sculpting, jewelry making, sewing, tie-dye, fashion design, cultural arts and crafts, photography, music, choreography and/or drama. Whatever your interest or talent, you can try it.

Babysitting 101Are you ready to be a babysitter? Come to camp and get certified in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and Babysitting and earn your Babysitting pin. Also, learn how to interact with young kids by learning games, crafts and activities that you can use anywhere. Learn how to be the best babysitter ever while also enjoying camp activities of your choice.

Duct Tape 101Have you ever made a duct tape wallet? What about a duct tape iphone case, belt or photo album? No, never?? Come to camp and experience all the awesome ways you can make things out of colored duct tape and then use them while at camp. While you are not making something out of duct tape spend time doing activities of your choice. You will never look at duct tape the same way.

Everything You Love About Camp (EYLAC)

Having a hard time deciding what you want to do at camp this summer? You can have a Girl Scout adventure and do it all. While you are at camp you will have a chance to hang-out with the horses, hiking, archery, learn about the outdoors, do arts & crafts of your choice, cook outdoors, try your hand in photography and just have fun. Join your friends and make new ones while doing everything you love about camp.

Girl Scout CSI Be a member of a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) team and solve the mystery. Decipher all the forensic evidence by checking for fingerprints, identifying clues, decoding secret notes, and testing for foreign objects in the victim’s food and water. Put the pieces together to solve the mystery.

Gourmet ChefExperiment with outdoor cooking, indoor cooking, and specialty cooking. Work with the kitchen staff and learn cooking basics and how to make special treats. Learn about nutrition and measurement skills. You will be the chefs, and your counselors will be your tasters.

Harry PotterCamp A.T. is packed with “wizarding” fun! Young “wizards” magically spend their day playing Quidditch (on the ground of course!), dueling wizards, practicing defense against the dark arts, concocting potions, checking out gags at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, honing wands, solving mysteries, breaking codes and “saving” friends from mazes of adventures. You never see Camp A.T. the same. Bring your garb and let the “wizarding” begin!

High-Adventure GirlsAre you a high adventure girl at heart? Have you always wanted to learn how to rock climb, mountain bike or plan and take a backpacking trip in beautiful Idyllwild with your friends? Well you can do it all at Camp AT. Join the Boojum Institute while they teach you all the important skills of rock climbing and the famous high-ropes challenge course. In your free time, participate in other adventures camp has to offer (yes, arts & crafts and just hanging out count as adventures!). Recommend a sturdy pair of hiking shoes.

I Love Nature Play outside in nature, take an exploration hike and visit Idyllwild Nature Center. Make crafts from nature and participate in general camp activities. Unit sleeps in tents.

Off Broadway!Ready, Set, Action! Calling all actors, dancers, singer, writers, producers and set designers are needed for a Camp AT Off-Broadway Production. Be a part of the action whether you are an actor, writer or a behind the scenes gal. Hurry limited space available. That’s a Take!

Photography Diva’sCome to camp and be a part of the paparazzi crew. You will first learn the basics of photography and learn to shoot photos like a pro. From there you will get your own disposable cameras. You will have a chance to take pictures of your choice while doing activities at camp. You will then have your cameras developed and make a scrap book and/or slide show (your choice). Be a part of creating the closing ceremony at camp by making a slide show/video with your pictures in it. Strike a pose!

Registrations will be processed in the order received. If more registrations are received than we have space for, a waiting list will be created and campers will be notified in the event a cancellation is received.

WHICH PRICE DO I PAY?Our three-tiered pricing structure provides families three pricing options for camp.

Families »– » choose to support Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio (GSSGC) at a level that they can afford by checking the appropriate box on the registration form.

This »– » pricing structure is confidential and will not in any way affect a girl’s experience at camp.

No »– » qualifying information or additional forms are required to choose a lower tier.

If »– » addition assistance is need bases on Tier III we encourage you to apply for a campership.*

TIER I is our full fee, covering most direct costs for a camper to participate in the camp session. We ask families to pay this amount if they have the financial means to do so.

TIER II is partially underwritten by GSSGC and is for those families that cannot afford the full fee, yet still want to support camp.

TIER III the lowest-price tier. We encourage families to use this tier if this is the most affordable. This is the most heavily underwritten fee.

*Camperships are not available for My Favorite Gal.

CampershipsCamperships are awarded based on need. Council makes every effort to use available money fairly and assist as many campers as possible. Applications should be sent along with registration form and $50 deposit. To access campership application visit our website at www.gssgc.org.

PaymentPersonal checks made payable to Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council (GSSGC); money orders, Cookie Dough, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discovery cards are accepted. Write camper’s name and camp session name and number on check.

If your »– » camper is not a registered Girl Scout, you will need to include an additional non-refundable $12 for yearly membership and become a registered Girl Scout through Girl Scouts of USA for 2010.

Campers who »– » are registering for more than one camp session must use a separate registration forms and include a $50 deposit for each session.

Final payments »– » must be made TWO WEEKS before session begins or camper may lose placement in registered camp session.

ConfirmationHelp GSSGC is going Green!

Upon receiving your registration form and successfully placing your camper in a session, the Camp Registrar will send an email informing you that your camper has been placed in a unit and a link to access the entire Camper Confirmation Packet.

Refund PoliciesThe $50 »– » deposit is non-refundable.

Written notification »– » of cancellation must be received ten working days prior to the opening of the session (except for medical emergencies with a written doctor’s statement) or the balance (minus the deposit) will not be refunded.

If a »– » camper leaves early due to homesickness, unacceptable behavior or parental request, no refund will be made.

If a »– » camper must leave early due to illness or injury, request for prorated refund must be made in writing within ten days after last day of assigned camp session.

The full »– » amount paid will be refunded if a camper cannot be placed in any other desired camp session.

If the »– » Council cancels the camp session, the total fee, including the deposit, will be refunded.

No-shows are »– » non-refundable.

Please notify »– » the Camp Registrar if you would like to remove a camper’s name from a waiting list.
