Girls’ Basketball Team Travels to Clemson The McCants Middle School girls’ basketball team visited Clemson University on January 26. The team and coaches watched as the Clemson Lady Tigers hosted the #9 ranked Louisville Cardinals. The players met the Tigers' mascot and were a big part of the halftime show during intermission. It was a great opportunity for the team to see some of the upgrades to athletic facilities and take in the atmosphere of an NCAA Division 1 and ACC women's basketball game.

Jacket Pride Awards McCants Middle School held its second round of Jacket Pride Awards to recognize students for both academic success and other positive character qualities. Thanks to all of the parents who came to share in our pride for these students.

Tour of Anderson Five Career Campus for Eighth Graders On May 23, 2017, our eighth graders will tour the Anderson 5 Career Campus. Students will be picked up at 8:45 am. The tour will begin at the Career Campus at 9:00 am and should be finished no later than 10:00 am.

Open Gym! McCants will host an Open Gym for students on February 9 from 3:35 pm until 5:00 pm. Student admission is $5 and snacks/drinks will be available for purchase in the concession stand. Students need to be picked up in the parking lot beside the gym promptly at 5:00 pm.

Cheer Squad Banquet MMS cheer squad will have its annual banquet on Monday, February 20, 2017, at Pizza Buffet at 7:00 pm.

Spring Book Fair The annual Spring Book Fair will be April 21 – 26 in the Media Center.

Geography Bee Congratulations to Dev Patel, MMS’s Geography Bee champion! Runner-up was Brodie Mattison. All of the contestants did an outstanding job and represented their grade levels with distinction!

Civil Rights Museum Mrs. Cowan’s classes have participated in a project and created their own Civil Rights Museum. This project will be housed in the Fine Arts Building on Friday,

February 24, 2017, from 8:10 – 3:10 in honor of Black History Month. All ELA classes will view the museum during this day.
