Please see below for manufacturer’s standard textile installation instructions. Some notes may be product type specific and may not be applicable to this pattern. Please contact your distributor with any questions.

SURFACE PREPARATIONNew Construction: The General Contractor shall see that the surfaces are true, smooth, level finish, free from cracks, dirt, dust, irregularities or rough spots. Walls are to be thoroughly dry before application. A good quality acrylic primer-sealer should be used to seal walls for easy future removal.

Renovation: Remove old wallpaper. Check wall surfaces to ensure that they are smooth, clean and dry. Enamel paint should be dulled and sealed. Old paint should be checked for sound adhesion. For any other surfaces, check with your local representative.

APPLICATION1. Before cutting, examine pattern, color and shade lots to determine that it matches approved samples. No allowances will be given for cut material.

2. A heavy-duty, clear adhesive should be used by the wallcovering contractor. Be sure to use the adhesive full strength. Room temperature for adhesive and material should be a minimum of 55°F. As with the nature of all textile and fabrics, care should be taken to keep all adhesive off the face of the material.

If product backing has an uneven, waffle texture, additional adhesive is recommended for application.

3. Paper-backed fiber materials require a minimum of 5-8 minutes booking time (pasted sheets folded together) to allow expanding of materials. Should bubbles occur while hanging, check carefully the amount of booking time allowed.

4. Pre-trim edges (1/2” - 1”) with a straight edge (one cut per blade) on cutting table in order to avoid snagging or fraying the material. DO NOT double-cut woven materials, as this can cause undue fraying.

JACQUARD patterns are untrimmed. Trimming will be required and must be done so as to keep the pattern alignment and spacing. Careful trimming will be necessary. Extra care should be used in installing these items.

5. Use strips in exact order as they are cut from roll. Reverse strips may reduce shading at the seams. Fill in over doors and windows with strips cut in consecutive order from the roll. Hang only one strip at a time.

SILK LOOK textiles must be hung straight from the roll. Subtle shading and appearance of seams is to be expected.

6. Smooth materials to hanging surface with clean, soft bristle brush to eliminate air bubbles and ensure adhesion. Lightly roll seams to set in place. Hard rolling can cause sheen on the edges.

7. AFTER APPLYING THREE STRIPS, if there are any defects, this should be immediately communicated to the distributor representative for inspection before proceeding further with installation. Natural wallcoverings will tend to lightly panel on occasion.

CLEANING General maintenance can be achieved with periodic dusting or vacuuming of this product. All stains should be treated as soon as possible with clean water by using a soft cloth (white) or sponge. For most stains, commonly available aqueous household products can be used, being careful not to flood the surface. Abrasive rubbing of spots should be avoided so that discoloration cannot appear. More care should be taken in cleaning any dark colors because of the possibility of causing “light marks”. Test first in an inconspicuous area.

SPECIAL NOTE These wallcoverings have been manufactured to the highest quality standards possible. However, it should be noted that some items by their nature require additional care in handling and installing so as to provide an acceptable wall finish. As with all woven fiber materials, irregularities in weave and coloration are normal occurrences that enhance the handmade appearance. This provides a look that cannot be duplicated by conventional machine made wallcoverings.

Fibers can and often do change color after being on the wall for any length of time.

For best results, it is recommended that a qualified TEXTILE wallcovering installer be employed.
