Today at GlenridgeBibleChurch.org
“Do not let the son of the foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord speak, saying, “The Lord has utterly separated me from His people”;
Nor let the eunuch say, “Here I am, a dry tree.” For thus says the Lord: “To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths,
And choose what pleases Me, and hold fast My covenant, Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place
and a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off. ”
Isaiah 56 :3-5

Dandelion Investigation
On a nice day, go on a dandelion investigation! Dandelions can grow almost anywhere so, hopefully, you will be able to find some good specimens to examine! (Grown-ups, you can do this too!) Here are some questions to help you think about what you see.
* 1. Where do you see dandelions growing? If they are on the lawn, how tall
are their stalks? If they are on the side of the road or in a meadow, how
tall are their stalks?
* 2. Look at a dandelion leaf? Why was the plant named “lion’s teeth”?
* 3. Dig up a dandelion root and then explain why this weed withstands
drought, and why the plant remains once it has been planted?
*4. Make notes on a certain dandelion plant 3 times a day. How long does it
take the dandelion head to open on a sunny morning? How long does it
stay open?
*5. After all the little flowers of a dandelion have blossomed, what happens to
it? How does the dandelion look after it opens again?
6. Look at a dandelion head full of seed. Shake or blow the seeds off. Do all
the seeds come off easily? Where do the seeds go?
7. Read Acts 8: 1-4. How is the dandelion like this story?
8. I wonder if you can think of any other ways the dandelion is a good picture
of the Church?
* These questions come from Handbook of Nature Study by Anna Botsford
1679 print of a dandelion by Maria Merian
Thank You for Praying
Notes of Praise: * Ernie Seeger has tested cancer-free! Please pray for his comfort as he heals and recovers and later has a stint removed. * Juergen Harder’s father, Helmut has been transferred to Shaver Hospital. He is now beginning his physiotherapy and recovery from hip surgery. * Charles and Tara Monteith’s friend, Andrea, whom we’ve been praying for, is in remission. She will be undergoing radiation as additional treatment. Praise the Lord, and please continue to pray for Andrea. * Larry and Linda Srigley thank you for your prayers for their eldest daughter, Deborah, who is responding very well to treatment for an infection. Please continue pray for healing, and peace. Prayer Concerns: * Betty Anderson broke her hip last Monday. She has had surgery and is recovering. Please pray for both Betty and Kim as Betty has to recover alone due to the Covid-19 restrictions. * Gilles Groleau`s daughter Chantal was admitted to hospital. They believe her water broke, but she is not due until late July. She is in hospital on bedrest for 2 -3 weeks then regular visits until due date. Baby’s heart rate and blood pressure are good. Please pray for her baby and the whole family over this stressful time. * Please continue to pray for healing and comfort for Kathleen Grout and her family as they navigate this season of loss, and bittersweet relief. * Please pray for Bev Williams. She is experiencing incredible amounts of pain in her shoulders and back. Please pray for healing and relief. * Otto Roman will be requiring atrial fibrillation treatment following the lock down.
