We will find out soon if we are lucky enough to have won $4,000 worth of technology for our school. Fingers crossed! My thanks to Mrs Hodgens who organised our special author visit last week. The students enjoyed a wonderful presentation, with some students volunteering to have Martin draw a caricature of them. Martin was so impressed with our school he sent the following message: “Hi Ann, I just wanted to email you a big 'thanks' for doing so much hard work to make the event this morning such a successful and enjoyable one. We visit literally hundreds of schools across Australia from a huge variety of backgrounds and our experience at Glenroi Heights was up there with the very best: enthusiasm, engagement and a really warm welcome. The number of students buying books was overwhelming.” Well done GHPS! You are amazing. Get ready to enjoy a “Parma for a Farmer” café day soon. Thank you to Kylie Lynch for coming up with such a great idea. Notes will be sent out soon, so get in and support our farmers. I enjoyed a wonderful morning tea with students last Friday, celebrating 100% attendance in Term 2. It was exciting and we all had a great time. Have a wonderful week of learning. 3/6 Bronze have been learning about world exploration and problem solving with money. In History, we used Google Earth to follow the journeys of famous explorers and discuss some of the geographical problems they may have faced. In maths, we have been matching pictures, numbers and words to make sure we understand the language and value of money.

SPOTLIGHT- 3/6 BRONZE

Xander is 9 and in 3/6 Bronze. He enjoys mathematics and challenging himself. At breaks he likes to play with Desmond. At home Xander has a dog called Franklin who has a stubby tail. He also has 2 cats called Timothy and Tammy. On the weekends Xander likes to play his Xbox and play on his tablet and phone. His favourite colour is red because it’s the colour of one of the Power Rangers, whose element is fire. Xander hopes to be the army when he grows up. His favourite thing about Miss Roebuck is that she is always there when he needs her and she helps him. Great Job Xander!
