Progress on Global Primary Education Improvement
• Millennium Development Goal: to ensure that all boys and girls complete a full course of primary schooling by 2015.
• Globally, the primary completion rate increased from 78% in 2000 to 83% in 2005.
• The pace of annual improvement in primary school completion has accelerated significantly since 1990 in regions such as sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and North Africa.
