The globalization of world business and the competition of organizations

from emerging markets are posing significant challenges for multinational companies

to succeed in the global marketplace. This trend is described as Globality at the

corporate level. Executives who successfully operate domestically do not necessarily

perform successfully overseas. There are extant researches on global leadership and

executive competencies but lack of evidence on what competencies relate to business

performance and what predictive competencies of global leaders are important. The

purpose of present study was to propose higher globality would influence current,

future performance, and the corporate performance. The background characteristics

relating with higher globality and high performance were analyzed. The results

showed that collaboration, global opportunities, and adjustment are related to current,

future and corporate performance consecutively. Globality at the executive level, is

defined as the integration of global leadership and executive competencies. Older

executives with more travel/working/international working experience had higher

globality and performance. The results of this study contribute to the field of global

leadership research and it provides practical implications for organization seeking to

improve their global leadership effectiveness in a dynamic and challenging worldwide

business environment.
