Kneader Extruder Discharge end with perforated die

An extrusion discharge screw is mounted underneath a conventional sigma blade mixer. It eliminates the tedious labor involved in emptying a tilt type kneader. During the mixing cycle, it moves the materials within the reach of the kneader blades. For discharging, its direction of rotation is reversed and it extrudes the mixture through a suitable die opening in the side of the machine.

This unit can mix and extrude a wide range of materials including rubber and neoprene compounds, thermoplastics, chewing gum, crayons, butyl tapes, carbon electrodes and hot melts. Working capacities range from 5 to 1,000 gallons. Units are constructed of carbon steel or stainless steel and can be equipped with heating or cooling jackets. Also available is an electrically heated, atmospheric oil jacket. Unit can be equipped for vacuum operation. A wide range of horsepower selections for kneader blades and screw is available in either single or variable speeds.

There are various extrusion dies to suit your requirements including pelletizing head. Extrusion screw is easily removable for cleaning.

Optionally, the mixing blades and extrusion screw can be cored for heating or cooling. Extrusion head can also be heated and a longer extrusion screw is available in some sizes.

Careful design and rugged construction make this sigma blade kneader suitable for processing materials falling within the widest range of viscosities and densities. The drive, bearings, and stuffing boxes meet the most difficult requirements. A lever is provided for tilting the trough over a low-lying frontal axis. Totally enclosed motors in three different horsepowers are offered for each size. Optional requirements for electrically heated oil or steam jackets, vacuum and materials of construction can be filled. Available working capacities are: 1 quart, 1 gallon and 2 gallons.
