Collecting basic facts of 1200 research universities about academic staff, students and finance

Number of participating institutions• 2011: 231 (20% participation rate)

• 2012: 425 (35% participation rate)

- 61% of Top 100 of ARWU

- 50% of Top 500 of ARWU

Data from National Statistical Agencies

14 countries were identified to have relatively mature institution statistics:

• 64% of institutions in ARWU database

• 70% of Top 500 of ARWU

The GRUP Platform aims to enable comprehensive comparisons of global research universities.

So far, the interactive ranking platform can be used to:• Benchmark institutions with their peers• Estimate ranking positions in ARWU• Rank institutions by indicators
