History of GRMA
Formed in 2014 by industry stakeholders to address industry-wide auditing issues
• Despite money and effort, current GMP audit programs neither mitigated retailer liabilities nor uncovered manufacturer’s regulatory issues
• Multiple audits created redundancy and expenses on all sides
• Inconsistency between audits and programs – audit fatigue
• Retailers’ inability to review audits led to uncertainty and stasis
• GRMA became an independent nonprofit organization in January 2018

encompassing all regulatory requirements, cGMP guidelines and
industry best practices

• Create consistency with auditor qualification, training and calibration
