Here are some tips to save electricity. Can you think of more ways to save electricity at home and school? Share your ideas with your parents and teacher.

1. Reduce, Reuse and RecycleReduce the water you use. Reuse all bags. Recycle paper, bottles and cans.

2. Be Smart at HomeRun the washing machine, dryer and dishwasher with a full load only. And use them in the early morning or late evening hours when it s̒ cooler outside. Unplug small appliances when youʻre not using them for an extended period of time. Avoid leaving computers and laptops on standby when not using them.

3. Change Your LightsUse energy-saving CFL light bulbs throughout your home.

4. Use Water WiselyTurn off the water while brushing your teeth. Also, don t̒ run the faucet waiting for cold water when you want a drink. Refrigerate filtered tap water instead.

5. Be Smart on the RoadAsk your parents to obey the posted speed limit and to avoid starting and stopping quickly. Driving moderately can reduce gasoline usage by 5 to 33 percent.
