Are you a leader/ influencer?

You may not think of yourself as a leader but if you influence people in any way then you are a leader even if it is your children and spouse. I believe one of the greatest resources we have at Noblesville First is a wealth of people with leadership experience. It might also be one of our most untapped resources. We already have many people who lead formally and informally specialized groups and Bible Studies. But we believe many of these ministries have become siloed, working independently. What if we could develop a process that gets our leaders together from time to time for inspiration, communication and encouragement. What if church

Noblesville. As a strategic partner, we have secured a special rate of $99 for anyone who registers with our promo code. The Leadership Summit will feature a world-class faculty, including Sheryl Sandberg, CEO of Facebook, Marcus Lemonis, star of CNBC’s The Profit and CEO of Camping World, and Angela Duckworth, author of Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance among others.

This is a crossover conference that is sponsored by the Willow Creek Association and held at Willow Creek Christian Church. The content will apply to your personal lives but is also great if you manage persons in the workplace. It is a unique blend of vision, inspiration and practical skills you can apply immediately. initiatives were communicated first to our influencers who can then help interpret our work to the rest of the congregation? What if they could give input on where and how to develop even more places for people to grow spiritually? What if our hospitality team and staff had an even better handle on the strengths of each group to more easily refer our newest worshippers?

These dreams are some of what is motivating us to fulfill the Leadership Development task found in our Ministry Action Plan from the FCJ Evaluation. We are taking two steps to begin this effort. First, we are holding two gatherings of our leaders (only need to attend one) on Sunday June 11 from 2-3pm and Wednesday June 14 from 7:30-8:30pm. We will share more detail about this leadership development effort.

The second step is to encourage everyone to take advantage of the incredible experience of the Leadership Summit to be held August 10-11 right here in

One of the things agreed upon was the fact that the small town feel of Noblesville was important even as it continues to grow and expand. The downtown square and its activities are part of what we love about our community and we wanted to see how we as a congregation could help support their mission as well as our own.

In the past year we have partnered with Noblesville Main Street by becoming members and supporting their events with volunteers and participants! As you know this year we have also become members of the Farmers Market with booth space 51 featuring plants, vegetables, and honey from Teter Organic Farm.

In 2017 there are over 40 events sponsored by Noblesville Main Street! If you are interested in being involved in these events please contact Jenell Hadley [email protected]! Our next opportunity to volunteer and participate is the 4th of July parade where we will have an entry in the parade and provide volunteers to stage the parade.

“Dress a Girl Around the World” (DAG) is a Campaign under Hope 4 Women International, a 501(c) 3 nondenomina-tional independent Christian organiza-tion bringing dignity to women around the world since 2006.

“We dream of a world in which every girl has at least one new dress.

We want girls to know that they are worthy and respected, and that they are loved by God.”

Since 2011, the UMW has sent over 2,000 dresses to this orga-nization for distribution throughout the world. In turn DAG has delivered over 300,000 dresses to 81 countries including

the United States, Canada, Cambodia, Haiti, Guatemala and the Philippines. To continue this effort we need your help!

We have patterns, fabric, thread, bias tape and elastic needed for the dresses. What is missing are the seamstresses!

There are many places in the world where this dress will be the only new dress they have in their life time. What if that dress was made by YOU?

Like many of those unnamed people of the Bible, most of us today will remain unnamed in the history books. As God called our biblical heroes to a life of faith, so God also calls us. A Love Gift is a donation to Missions through Metro Ministries given in honor and appreciation for works of the heart. This year the United Methodist Women voted to thank and honor the Visitation Communion Team. They provide such love and care in delivering Communion to the home bound and to those in Care Facilities.

A donation was sent in honor of: COLEEN ALBRIGHT, VIVIAN BATCHELDER, MARY BURNS, PAM CAMMACK, SARAH CLELLAND, STEPHANIE AND TOM DICK, BRENDA EICK, BARB FOGARTY, MELISSA AND GREGORY GOAD, MARILYN HENSLEY,VICKIE HOBBS, JAN HOWELL, DONNA IRWIN, BETH LIVELY, BRUCE MCMAHON, JANE MEATS, DUKE MILLER, JEAN MORRIS, SANDY SPATTA and RON STOLTZ.

Staff spotlightBrooke CrumJoining the church staff in 2013 as Connect First Coordinator, Brooke Crum’s natural gift for hospi-tality has welcomed countless visitors, guests and new members.Brooke was led to ministry by a desire to help bring people to church and show them that everyone is welcome and each of us belongs even if our past is not perfect. “I love talking to people and making new friends. I love to show everyone that they are special and important and each of us has gifts to share. It is fun for me and it never feels like a ‘job.’”In 2015, Brooke shifted to full-time, adding the role of Office Manager to her plate. “I love my role as the office manager because I like things to run smoothly and efficiently, and my office manager role meshes nicely with hospitality. So much of what I do helps to keep the building safe and running, and hopefully smelling and looking fabulous.” (Brooke is in charge of building fragrance ;-)The most challenging part of my job is not being able to get everything accomplished for this place that I would like to. The most challenging part of my role as Connect First Coordinator is probably when someone comes through our doors and doesn’t feel like we have what they are looking for and leaves without giving us a chance to help find connections for them.Brooke has a son Lawson, a daughter Lillie and four dogs Rudy, Fern, Stella & Cinder. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, reading, sewing, Pinterest projects, watching her kids swim & walking dogs.

This month’s featured book is Journey with J.W. by Daphna Flegal.

Elementary school-aged children will ride through Methodist history with John Wesley and the early Methodists. Children will learn about our Methodist heritage and how it has shaped us as people of faith, how God inspired John Wesley and other early leaders in the church.

To my Noblesville First church family,I am feeling overwhelmed and blessed by such an outpouring of love and support from everyone! Thank you to Pastor Dick and Carol Miller for coming to the hospital to pray with me before surgery. For the beautiful prayer quilt, tulips and all the cards! For the offer of meals and especially the prayers! My progress has been amazing -- my therapist’s words, not mine! God is good!Sincerely,Tish King

Prayer tips: Let his love set us free by Beth Lively

Study and ponder these verses this summer and take the time to read them in their entirety.

2 Timothy 1:7 God didn’t give us a spirit that is timid but one that is powerful ...

Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t be anxious about anything ...

Galatians 5:22-23 ... the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control ...

1 Corinthians 13:7 Love puts up with all things, trusts in all things, hopes for all things, endures all things.

My mind is a master storyteller crafting wide panoramic feature films of everything I process, and so is yours.

Feelings color every frame—some lovely and vivid, some the scratchy crayon scribbles of a toddler, some even terrifying, because in our feelings, we are many people—everyone we’ve always, ever been—that’s why emotions may enrich us, but our soul rooted in God through Jesus Christ must lead us.

Only His unconditional love will guide us in truth, the one that sets us free. See, that FREEDOM never meant free of the world, but ALWAYS free from the tangle of our many “selves.” Freedom from getting caught, trapped in our own emotions.

Simple idea—unconditional love—takes a moment to hear, but a lifetime to understand. The next two months will bring many opportunities among family and friends, for study, prayer, and practice of God’s unconditional love. Enjoy!
