We plan for ministry that will be here after each of us is gone. The Endowment funds of our church are gifts intended to be kept permanently and invested to generate earnings that can be used to fund future programs. Since 1930, our church has invested these funds in a long term strategy, using only a portion of the earnings to fund special pro- grams. Some of these have a dedicated purpose like the Music Scholarship endowment. Others are more general like the Ministry innovation endowment which is targeted for children’s ministry. A child in the 2-year old room recently asked a classmate if he was going to the 11 o’clock service. He boldly proclaimed, “You should go, Jesus will be there!” Through generosity like this, you can be sure that future generations of two-year olds will be this ex- cited about church. Giving to the Church – Endowments and Planned Giving

WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS Dr. Gorman Houston

PASTORAL PRAYER Dr. Gorman Houston The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Let us pray.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

*OFFERTORY HYMN NO. 496 Sweet Hour of Prayer SWEET HOUR

Stanzas 1, 2

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! that calls me from a world of care,

and bids me at my Father's throne make all my wants and wishes known.

In seasons of distress and grief, my soul has often found relief,

and oft escaped the tempter's snare by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! the joys I feel, the bliss I share

of those whose anxious spirits burn with strong desires for thy return!

With such I hasten to the place where God my Savior shows his face,

and gladly take my station there, and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

*HYMN OF DEDICATION NO. 419 I Am Thine, O Lord I AM THINE

Stanzas 1, 2, 3 I am thine, O Lord, I have heard thy voice, and it told thy love to me; but I long to rise in the arms of faith and be closer drawn to thee.

Refrain Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, to the cross where thou hast died. Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, to thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to thy service, Lord, by the power of grace divine; let my soul look up with a steadfast hope, and my will be lost in thine. Refrain
