Events and Achievements (2012)

We are very thankful to the Prof. P. S. Raju Director, Prof. Jandhyala N Murthy

Principal and management for their continuous support and encouragement in doing many good

activities/events from the department side. The following are the achievements and events for the

year 2012 January.

1. On January 2nd

Mr. K. Sandeep joined as a Asst.Professor.

2. On January 16th

to 21st Asst professors Mr. K. Sandeep and Ms. T. N. P. Madhuri

attended “C programming and Data Structures workshop” sponsored by Andhra

Pradesh State Council of Higher Education in association with JNTUH at Nalla Malla

Reddy Engineering College.

1. On February 5th

Central Bank of India entrance exam conducted by IBPS, with the help

of Tata Consultancy Services.

2. “Mobtronix Robo workshop” was conducted on 10th

and 11th

February. In association

with Techno Philia, Bombay. It was coordinated by Dr. T.V. Rajini Kanth and co

coordinated by Mr.Y.Jeevan Nagendra Kumar.

February The Officers of the State Project, Advisor, SPFU, AP,

Hyderabad TEQIP officers Dr. T.V. Rajini Kanth, ACADEMIC and Sri M.

Chakravarthi, M&E have attended 2 days training program on Web based Management

Information System(MIS) conducted by NPIU, New Delhi at Osmania University

College of Engineering, Hyderabad, under the presence of TEQIP CO-ORDINATOR Mr.

M. Muralidhar Reddy.

1. On 8th

April OCA Certification Exam was conducted.

2. On 21st April all the Robo project students conducted the Project Expo at D.A.V Public

School coordinated by Dr.T.V.Rajini Kanth.

3. On 29th

April OCA Certification Exam was conducted. In this exam 21 members were

qualified.

attended Java One and Oracle Development Conference conducted by Oracle at HICC

(Novatel), Hyderabad.

July Asst Professors Mr. K.Anil Kumar, Ms. S.Lakshmi Priya, Ms.

N.Sreedevi, and Ms. J.Sirisha are going to be attend the Research Methodologies

workshop on Remote Center for National Machine on Education through ICT

(MHRD, Govt of India) conducted by IIT, Bombay at Regional Center GRIET.

8. On June 18th to 21st Digital Logic Design Training program for Asst professors Ms.

A.Pavithra, Ms.T.N.P.Madhuri, Ms.J.Sirisha, and Ms.S.LakshmiPriya, Ms.M.

Pushpalatha conducted by ECE department at GRIET.

9. On June 29th

& 30th

Dr. T.V. Rajini Kanth, Professor, HOD went to CSI(Computer

Society of India) as a resource person on the topic title “Implementation of Data

Mining Techniques Using WEKA Tool”.

10. On June 20th

our department 4th

year student teams Team Rockerz(M.Akhil Reddy,

G.S.N.R.Chaithanya, M.Gangadhar, T.Preetham), The Poineers(A.Abhiram, T.Bharath)

were attended the TGMC(The Great Mind Challenge) contest conducted by IBM at

Sitha Institute of pharmaceuticals and Sciences, Bachupally, Hyderabad.

our department conducted “Rational Rose” workshop for 40

faculty members organized by IBM.

5. On July 13th

Graduation Day our department student T. Krishna Teja was awarded Gold

Medal.

6. On july 28th

Dr.T.V. Rajini Kanth has attended the workshop on “Implementation of

Data Mining Techniques Using WEKA Tool” as a CIV Resource person at CVSR

Engineering college, Gatkesar, Hyderabad.

1. On August 1st Dr.T.V. Rajini Kanth attended the IUCEE(Indo US Consortium for

Engineering Education) conference at Golconda Hotel.

August Dr.T.V.Rajini Kanth organized “IBM DB2 workshop” at

GRIET. Assistant Professors P.K. Abhilash, K. Anil Kumar, K. Sandeep, N. Sreedevi and

K. Lakshmi Sushma attended for that workshop.

August our department 4th

year students T. Venkata Sai Ram and S. Ram Mohan

Raju participated in “g|india's Technology Day” at the Hyderabad International

Convention Centre (HICC).

4. On August 22nd

Dr.T.V. Rajini Kanth attended the “Training program for TEQIP” at

Chaithanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Gandipet, Hyderabad.

5. “Faculty Development Program” on C and Data Structures was conducted under

SCT. Dr. T.V Rajinikanth and Associate Professor Mrs. K. Prasanna Lakshmi played the

role of Resource Persons for the Program. Associate Professors P.Gopala Krishna and

Y.J.Nagendra attended the Program. Assistant Professors K.L.Sushma, K.Sandeep, and

Mrs. Madhuri also attended the Program.

1. Mrs. V.V.N.A Bhargavi rejoined as Asst. Professor in IT Department.

2. Dr. T.V Rajinikanth participated at “Software Quality and Testing” workshop

conducted by IBM and OU at Osmania University Campus on 15th

September.

3. A guest lecture on “Opportunities in Higher Education and Research at DEAKIN

University, Australia” was organised by Dr. T.V Rajinikanth in association with

Mr.Goutham Gandhi, Co-ordinator Research and Partnership(South)-DEAKIN

University.

4. Dr. T.V Rajinikanth visited TCS campus, HITEC City, Hyderabad on 12th

September

2012 between 12:00 to 2:15 pm for Project Assessment of M.Tech(SE) student

A.Kamal Kumar.

5. Elocution, Essay writing and five minute situational skits competitions were held in

Civil department on 10-09-12 on behalf of “Engineer’s Day” on 15th

September.

6. Dr. T.V Rajinikanth was the judge for the competition held on the occasion of

“Engineer’s Day”.

7. II, III and IV Year students from IT dept grabbed the prizes at this competition.

10. On 21-09-12, Mr.Ravi Roy from “Vidya Mandir Social Works Arts Training”

came and performed various paper designs from Waste Material to II and III year
