• Accessible and non-bureaucratic

• Can deal with unit-based qualifications

• Can recognise achievement and accumulation towards

larger qualifications (rules of combination)

• Flexible and responsive

LEVEL FOR ACHIEVEMENT

• QCF is constructed at 8 levels

• From entry level through to PhD level

• Level does not reflect the size of the qualification, only its

relative difficulty

8 PhD (Level D of FHEQ)

7 Fellowships, NVQ5, Masters, Postgraduate Dip or Cert (Level M of FHEQ)

6 NVQ4, Bachelors (Hons) (Level H of FHEQ)

Where gaps have been identified, the site/company can be directed to the nearest available training provider. This training may be funded through Train2Gain, depending on status of candidate.
