GMP Air Compressor Oil 32
Description
Compressor Oil has been formulated from highly refined paraffinic base oils and high
performance additives to provide outstanding lubrication in a variety of rotary and
reciprocating air compressors. All ISO viscosity grades are formulated with outstanding
oxidation performance, wear protection, resistance to rust and corrosion, rapid water
separation and foam control.
Applications
Compressor Oil 68 is suitable for use in rotary vane and screw compressors.
Compressor 68, 122 and 220 are effective as "once-through" lubrication of
reciprocating compressor cylinders as well as crankcases and some types of rotary
compressors.
Recommended for Vacuum pumps and as R&O lubricants in other industrial oil
applications
Compressor Oil is not recommended for breathing air or oxygen compression
In severe service applications, where equipment is subject to higher operating
temperatures, subject to excessive deposits varnish and shortened service life
Follow the compressor manufacturers recommendations for lubricant selection
For gases other than air or natural gas and for specific compressor lubricant
recommendations, please your Imperial Oil representative.
Advantages
Reduced deposits and coking, extended service life with the potential for reduced
maintenance
Can help reduce compressor component wear and thereby reduce maintenance
requirements
Internal components are protected from surface degradation, thereby extending
component life
Rapid release of foam and air, protecting components from aeration and cavitation
damage, leading to reduced wear
Less carryover to downstream equipment.
2
Reduced sludge formation in crankcases, discharge lines, coalescers, and coolers

GMP Extra Heavy Oil
Description
Extra Heavy Oils have a high viscosity index - which ensures minimum variation in film
thickness and minimum power loss during the warm up period. They are specially fortified to
prevent the formation of rust, and also have the ability to take into solution small amounts of
water but to separate rapidly from large amounts which may find access to the circulation
system. They protect against the formation of emulsions and sludges which seriously detract
from lubricating efficiency.
Applications
These oils are intended primarily for continuous re-use service in circulation lubrication
systems where design factors and maintenance procedures ensure minimum leakage loss.
Includes:
Splash, bath and ring oiling arrangements
And all other continuous re-use methods involving pumps, valves and ancillary
equipment.
They are also suitable as multipurpose lubricants; they may be used in gear systems or in
hydraulic systems where clearances are relatively large and temperatures and pressures
relatively moderate. Those grades are particularly useful when rationalising lubricant
requirements.
Advantages
Heavy Oils offer the following benefits:
High level of chemical and thermal stability gives long service life, and potential to
extend drain periods.
Very high level of protection against rust and corrosion.
Rapid and complete separation from water.
Very high resistance to emulsification.
High level of protection against wear reduces maintenance costs.
Prevention of sludges improves operating efficiency.
Higher production and reduced maintenance costs increase operating profits

motors, where reduced friction, low wear and long service life are required.
The recommended operating temperature range of -50°C to 180°C.
Advantages
Wide range of applications.
Outstanding high and low temperature performance.
Excellent resistance to rust, corrosion and oxidation.
Increased protection against water penetration.
Reduced wear under heavy loads.

GMP UNIREX N3
Description
premium-quality, lithium-complex products suitable for high-temperature service in rolling-
element bearings. These versatile greases can be used in a wide range of industrial
applications and are particularly recommended for electric-motor lubrication. UNIREX N 3 is
an NLGI No. 3 grade often used for special applications such as sealed-for-life electric motor
bearings, vertically mounted bearings, and higher-speed applications. UNIREX N greases are
not intended to be used under extreme pressure conditions where extra anti-welding
properties are required.
Applications
UNIREX N 3 is an NLGI No. 3 grade and is used for special applications such as sealed-for-life
bearings, vertically-mounted bearings, and higher-speed bearings.
Advantages
Lithium-complex thickener resists softening / running out of bearings at
temperatures up to 190°C
Laboratory bearing rig tests show outstanding continuous lubrication
performance at bearing temperatures of up to 140°C
Start-up power requirements are low at temperatures down to at least -20°C.
Meets DIN 51825 low temperature torque requirements at -20°C
Exhibits excellent resistance to softening due to mechanical working
Resists water washout and protects bearings against corrosion
Channelling characteristics provide excellent performance in high- speed deep-
groove ball bearings. Unirex N3 is recommended where DmN (mean bearing
diameter X rpm) exceeds 360,000

GMP VG 68 Heavy Medium
Description
premium performance circulating lubricants designed for applications including steam and
hydro turbine sets and other systems where long lubricant service life is required. Also
formulated from highly refined base stocks and an additive system which provide an
extremely high level of chemical and thermal stability, rapid and complete separation from
water and a high resistance to emulsification. They provide excellent protection against rust
and corrosion, including resistance to salt water, and good antiwear properties. They have a
high viscosity index which ensures minimum variation of film thickness with temperature and
minimum power loss during the warm up period. These grades have excellent air release
properties which allow entrained air to separate, thus avoiding pump cavitation and erratic
operation.
Applications
Premium performance circulating lubricants designed for applications where long lubricant
service life is required. Specific applications include:
Land-based and marine steam turbine, hydro turbine and some gas turbine
circulation systems, including pumps, valves and other ancillary equipment
Continuous service in plain and roller bearings and parallel shaft gearing
Turbines with oil supplied by splash, bath, ring oiling or other mechanical
means
Moderate severity hydraulic pumps
Compressors and vacuum pumps handling air, natural gas, and inert gases, and
with discharge temperatures not exceeding 150C
Advantages
Long oil charge life in circulation systems and reduced oil replacement costs
Less unplanned downtime and reduced maintenance costs
Improved operating efficiency
Longer equipment life, reduced maintenance and downtime
Avoids pump cavitation, noisy and erratic operation
2
Rationalize inventory, reduced inventory costs
