GOLDEN TRIANGLE
Brooklyn's Golden Triangle have been kicking around for a while now. I first saw the group in summer 2008 as the opening act on a night Deerhunter debuted a lot of Microcastle material. That performance-- and Golden Triangle's chaotic stage presence-- stuck with me for some reason. I mentally tagged them as "psychotic B-52's" and followed along as they played a ton of other shows, many in Brooklyn warehouses, and put out a self-titled EP on Mexican Summer last year. Double Jointer is the band's first full-length, and it falls in line with the throwback garage-rock of Black Lips and King Khan, as well as the murkier scuzz-pop of Vivian Girls. MARGARITA JIMENO is an award winning filmmaker living and working in New York City.
She started her career working for films by Michael Moore, Alfredo de Villa, Kurby Dick, Christine Vachon, Raphaël Nadjari and recently Aaron Sorkin’s new HBO pilot. In 2007 Jimeno launched the production company Hoptza Films to debut the feature music documentary film, Gogol Bordello Non-Stop. Kino-Lorber International released it theatrically, and in DVD throughout North America. It was broadcasted in Latin America, and Russia, and it toured and won several awards at international film festivals. Margarita is an alumni of Werner Herzog’s first Rogue Film School in Los Angeles, and the Talent campus at the 61st Berlin Film festival. In addition Margarita has served as a film juror in Musixine, Finland, a crowd-funding speaker in CPH:DOX, Denmark, and a panelist at Latin Beat festival at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Jimeno is developing a documentary TV/Web series with German production company Avanti Media for Arte TV. And she is working on developing her first fiction feature film.
Born and part time raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Margarita moved to New York City in 1997. Her work reflects her passion for music, and the peculiarities of life, which tend to be absurd, and surrealistic.

Production Notes Golden Triangle’s music video was shot on set of the short film Swimming Away. An apocalyptic tale about three finalists fiercely competing in the most wanted swimming competition, the prize? A citizenship. Golden Triangle’s members also appear in the film as the “mad crowd”.
