Find out more at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/consultaons I’d like to congratulate the 16 men who completed the 10-week Smythesdale Sons of the West program. Their stellar efforts were recognised at the graduaon celebraon in May, where we were also joined by football legend, Tony Liberatore. Parcipants commied to improving their knowledge and health over the 10 weeks, and we are extremely proud of them. Stories from the parcipants indicate that the program has changed lives in a posive manner, inspiring them to make sustainable lifestyle changes. 34 local young people, aged 12-15, are currently stepping out of their comfort zones and embarking on adventures that advance their personal development, as part of GPS Adventures, a program funded by VicHealth. So far the parcipants have gone on excursions to the You Yangs Naonal Park and Surf Coast Mountain Bike Park – we hope they enjoy the rest of the program! mayor’s message HAVE YOUR SAY – INVERLEIGH STRUCTURE PLAN The Inverleigh Structure Plan provides a strategic framework to establish the basis for future land use planning decisions for the town. The Structure Plan indicates a preferred layout of residenal, commercial, community and other land uses based on a 15 year outlook. Community members are invited to provide feedback on the draſt Structure Plan framework for Inverleigh. Council would love to hear from all Inverleigh residents, business owners, stakeholders, and visitors at one of our pop up conversaon posts (Saturday 16 June 2018, 9am-12pm, Inverleigh town centre; Saturday 23 June 2018, 12pm-3pm, Inverleigh Recreaon Reserve). In our first week, 13 mums and 16 babies came along to soak up the sunshine, meet new people and enjoy some physical acvity! It’s a great way to meet and connect with other mums in a baby-friendly environment with plenty of room for prams – your babies can spend me in prams, on blankets or crawling on the green. Older babies are welcome and all children are the responsibility of parents. So if you are looking for an opportunity to get outside during the day with your babies and also get a lile acve, come along!     I’d like to congratulate the 16 men who completed the 10-week Smythesdale Sons of the West program. Participants committed to improving their knowledge and health over the 10 weeks, and we are extremely proud of them. Stories from the participants indicate that the program has changed lives in a positive manner, inspiring them to make sustainable lifestyle changes.
